Nice atmosphere and staff. Server was attentive and friendly. Ordered the Pastrami Hash with potatoes ($16.95) . Served on a SMALL skillet full of greasy potatoes and approximately twelve (12) 1/2 inch cubes of Pastrami of which half was fat. Maybe 1 ounce of meat if that. More like an appetizer sized meal. Now I have to go and find somewhere else to eat. Very limited menu and pricy. About $20 for a pizza which is essentially 2 small to medium slices. NOT COMING BACK..

This Soma restaurant in San Francisco is great. Nice atmosphere. It was full but they served me my plate very quickly. I tried the roasted garlic and goat cheese ravioli, excellent. I am very happy to see that this restaurant still exists..

Ooh la la. I went to Lulu solo and had an experience gatronomique worth writing about. The wait person recommended a crisp Viognier, and I chose a 3-item antipasti combo of beets with homemade lemon ricotta that was as light as whipped cream, a hearty pork and pistachio pate with cranberry mustard (or shall I say moutarde?), and a slice of goat cheese, onion, and bacon tart. I couldn't have eaten another bite but wish I could have! And the staff never made me feel rushed, even though I was at a 4-top table. Merci, Lulu!!.

Great service. Had dinner at LuLu Thursday... the roast lamb as always was delicious, the pizza devine and the pasta just average. Our service however was exceptional. How surprised were we to learn that our server had only arrived in the city 2 weeks earlier. Mark was very professional, had an excellent knowledge of the menu and was not afraid to make suggestions. He'll make a wonderful addition to the staff at Lulu. The wine list has always seemed pricy and a bit pretentious in relation to the menu and ambiance of the place. A $20 corkage fee solves the problem for us. We consider Lulu a favorite neighborhood restaurant..

Brrrrr! The food was ok, but the place was freezing. People were dining while wearing scarves, wool hats, coats, etc. Going outside to 50 degree weather was warmer than this place..

Fantastic!. The staff at the Palomar Hotel recommended Lulu for dinner. We are both vegetarians and their menu had a number of items that looked enticing. A short walk later on a balmy November evening and we were at Lulu. The hostess gave us a very friendly welcome, offered to check our coat and showed us to a table. A very short time later and we had water, bread and butter and menus. Our waiter, Mark, took our drink orders, a glass of Prosecco and a Poire Passion cocktail. He returned with our drinks quickly. We had a tough time choosing what to order, there were many selections that sounded delectable. We decided on the appetizer (choice of 3) going with the Roasted Beets and Walnuts, Honey Pears with a blue cheese slab and the olives with garlic, rosemary and lemon. The Roasted Beet salad was firm, sweet and delicious. The Pear in Honey with blue cheese had a nice contrast in flavors between the sweet pears and the sharp blue cheese. If you order the olives with garlic you better really like olives. There were more olives than we could eat though we tried. For our meal we chose the broccoli rabe pizza with peppers, goat cheese and sausage, hold the sausage. We couldn't resist trying the cauliflower side order. The pizza came out, thin crispy crust, steaming hot covered in broccoli rabe, peppers and what appeared to be sausage. We asked our server if that was sausage and he assured us it was pancetta. Nuts, we missed that on the menu. He removed the pie and assured us that we would have a replacement quickly and apologized for the misunderstanding. The replacement pizza was worth the wait. The broccoli rabe was fresh with just the right amount of bite, the peppers, though few in number packed plenty of side fire in every bite. More peppers would have been a mistake. The pizza melted in our mouths with every bite. The crispy crust and the soft goat cheese complimented each other. As much as we wanted to try, we were through, gavones that didn't leave enough room for dessert. For the misunderstanding which was every bit as much our oversight, we were each given a glass of a dessert tawny port. Totally unnecessary, but very welcomed. The server and the hostess both apologized again for the pizza faux paux. Overall the food was excellent. Very fresh, great mix of textures and tastes and items that you won't find at every other restaurant. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The interior of the restaurant is very open, clean styling, very cool. I can't say enough good about Lulu and will definitely return with friends. Check the online menu but remember that is only a partial menu. Definitely worth trip..
