Great Food, Great Wine, Great Staff. I had a memorable evening sitting at the bar sipping wines with bartender/resident artist Nolan. He explained the wines with a comfortable familiarity, and we took our time on an especially memorable old vine Zinfandel that reminded me of grilled oysters (seriously!). I thoroughly enjoyed the octopus salad, with its tasty blend of halved grapes and baby greens and an unpretentious dressing. Nolan and I thought that the grilled baby red potatoes didn't really fit the dish, and I suggested homefry chips instead. Nolan wrote down my suggestion and I'll be checking in on that in the future. For my dinner I chose the butterfish and was surprised at the good-sized portion and the flaky yet slightly chewy and buttery mouth feel. Grilled bok choy worked perfectly on the side. I can't remember the glass of white wine, but ask Nolan about the one that tastes and smells of lychees - it's terrific and pairs well with the strong flavors of octopus and butterfish. All in all, it was a terrific evening. Check out Nolan's art that adorns the walls and halls, tip him well, and may he'll negotiate on prices with you!.

I just visited Triptych for Saturday lunch/brunch. The food and drinks were delicious. I loved the artistic decor. The only minor complaint I had was that they didn't seem to have enough glassware in which to properly serve their Belgium ales..

Friendly service. The food was of high quality and well prepared and innovative. The crab cake was large and full of crab with sprinkrs of carrot. Nice touch. The mushroom barley soup was unfortunately made with chicken stock, not vegetable, but chunky with ingredients and tasty..
Went here on a tuesday night, so keep in mind it was not very busy and the place was pretty dead, which affected the vibe. service was acceptable, nothing great. appetizers were not very enjoyable, one was an ahi tuna mix on some tortilla chips, I thought was a little overdone with various sauces. another appetizer was salmon sashimi rolled up vietnamese-salad-roll style with strawberry glaze - was recommended by the waitress but trust me it was NOT a good combination, strawberry does not go with salmon.. I think the chef was out in left field creating that one. So after the appetizers, I was expecting sub-par entrees, but they turned out quite good. I had the shiitake ravioli which was excellent... perfectly cooked pasta and it was fresh. decor of the place was actually disappointing, especially given it is an art gallery as well... the chairs/tables/walls are all pretty low-quality and do not match.... dark purple paint, white pseudo-granite tables, and old dingy plastic black chairs. overall, a mediocre meal, disappointing decor, would not be tempted to eat here again but it is worth trying once..
Yummy, yummy, yummy, great food, great wines, friendly service. Worth $$$.
Great summer lunch spot.
