A branching out business of Zen Corner chain to join the terrible Malatang competition. Had lunch in early Nov. when I was back from Taiwan after its grand opening. Lay-out looks good, tidy and clean. Food choices are definitely different from the other competitors in offering more prestige seafood items such as shelled scallops and oysters. Moreover, more soup bases are available for selection. On the other hand, these items and choices of soup base reduce the authenticity of the themes of Malatang. Price charged is quite fair and overall taste matches my Cantonese taste buds.
The best, best malatang/hotpot in Brisbane. They could definitely still do things better, their sauce line up is quite small, but their sesame sauce and chilli/garlic oil is fantastic, plus they charge you for takeway containers and they run a bit expensive at $3.80 for 100g of food. The real draw though is their excellent soup! It comes in five different flavours and I can say that their non spicy chicken soup, little spicy and their sour and spicy soup are amazing! Thick, flavoursome soups like what you would make at home! I like the little sweet and crunchy mung beans they use as a topping too! thatseriousgirl.blogspot.com
