The food was nicely presented and the dishes themselves were very big and perfect for sharing. The charcoal bread was served steaming hot and it was nice with the butter, a little dense with the consistency of a dinner roll so it filled us up before the main course. The pate was sweet, served in a teacup. The toast that came with the pate was very crispy and didn’t go as well with the pate as with the charcoal bread. The lamb was really soft and the jus very rich. I didn’t really catch what the waitress said about the fish of the day but it was a nice introduction anyway. It paired alright with The creamy sauce. The flavours of the pasta were very light with the lemony oil which went well with the seafood. I was on the fence with the duck breast because the accompanying sides seemed well fitted for lamb rather than roasted duck. Strange but there’s some merit.Overall pretty good food, service alright and the view is nice (have to walk outside to see the bay).
We stayed at the edge of bay and it was an exceptional place. We decided to try the restaurant here as there wasnt too much around however we were underwhelmed. The sauce on the pork belly was overwhelming and sweet and the pasta was a bit soft and gluggy. Nice views from the restaurant and lovely service from the waitress.
Really great food.Had the duck pate topped with a raspberry jelly for entree – the jelly was a bit sweet so we just scooped that part off, but the pate was really very good. The mains were the highlight. Had the seafood fettucine which was stunning. It had white fish, salmon, squid, scallops and mussels topped with burnt capers and i did not expect to be blown away with how delicious this dish was!We also had the lamb served with ratatouille and gratin and the lamb was perfectly cooked. There were about 5 other groups in the restaurant which seems a pretty good effort for winter. The service was very good
Delicious food and outstanding service. Panoramic views across the bay to the Hazards Mountains. Great selection of wines. Would recommend this place highly – generous portions, fresh ingredients and craftsmen in the kitchen.
Fantastic meal with great wait staff. Seriously best meal we’ve had in tassie.
