Popped in to this cafe after a lovely day out in Tasmania. We were greeted (if that’s what you call it) by someone who didn’t know what a Corona was in the fridge behind them. It’s extremely expensive for what you get. $3 for a teaspoon of tartare sauce is pretty outrageous. In saying this, the food was pretty delicious and the lemon was free. Food 3.5, service 2.

Best fish and chips of our entire stay in Tasmania. They were able to crumb mine in a gluten-free batter so for once I didn’t have to order it grilled. Waitress knew her fish, was able to describe the difference between the varieties which helped me make the right choice for my taste (local trevally). Oysters for entree were the cheapest and best I found anywhere. A very pleasant spot on a warm evening. Only criticism would be, eat-in was not BYO but wine selection was a bit limited.

As visitors, we decided on the local fish and chips (blue eye and flathead respectively) for a Sunday night dinner. This was around the $20+ mark ($10 more than the non local product) but when in Rome…. (as they say). Helpful service assisted selection of a glass of local white wine to top it off. Fish and chips was well prepared – but it was the setting on a warm clear evening that was truly memorable.

Stopped by here for a fish & chip meal. The chips were great, but the fish was not. The fish was very small (think we ordered the blue grenedier) & thebatterwas thin & not at all crunchy. I have to say the staff were very friendly though & loved the waterfront location
