Had a great meal here tonight, spending 4 nights in Hobart and loving it. Food was awesome, we had butter chicken and beef Korma, service was quick and friendly

After a few disappointing meals in Hobart and a lot of expensive options, we decided to scale it back and try something a bit more casual after seeing quite a few diners in the window. We opted for the Raja Banquet. To start we had lamb cutlets, prawns and a fried chickpea fritter. These came with a fresh mint condiment. We inhaled it. The lamb was tender and juicy and full of flavor. Same goes for the prawns. The fritter was a great vegetarian addition. Next came way more curries than our bellies could handle. Then a basket of naan. And a mountain of rice. We were full just looking at it. Butter chicken was creamy and rich, vegetable korma was the hero with bags of flavour and fresh, crunchy veggies and the Rogan Josh was tender but the flavours were a bit different to your usual Rogan. The naans were fresh and delicious and so was the rice. It’s also BYO! And if you go with the $30 banquet they wipe the corkage. We were there late, close to closing time however the staff remained friendly and hospitable and patient despite it probably being time for them to pack up shop. Would definitely recommend if you’re after somewhere to go on a date or even a birthday dinner. Great value for your buck. Thanks for having us!

You can now experience Annapurna at North Hobart, Salamanca and Bellerive. North Hobart is the best experience. Service is polite and efficient. The best Butter Chicken can be found here. Love the Garlic Cheese Nan.

Great food, this place was pretty full when we arrived, and the waitress asked if we wanted to move to a less squishy table once some others left which was great! Service was quick, friendly, best naans I’ve had in a very long time! It was also one of the cheapest meals my husband and I had and one of the best. Definitely recommend!

Love love love this spot. We had three Thali and lots of naan. Service was great but they were very busy. Bit noisy but you’d kinda go in and get out quickly. No good for a nice lazy dinner with conversation. Butter chicken yum, tandoori chicken hot and spicy.

We were advised this was the pick of the numerous Indian restaurants around town, but leave with mixed emotions. On one hand, the Butter Chicken was rich with flavour and the Tikka Masala was authentic and so well cooked. Additionally, the traditional Indian ice cream (more of a frozen flakey texture than creamy for those who haven’t tried it) flavours of mango, pistachio and coconut were very enjoyable to finish off the night. There were negatives, though. Not enough rice for two people, atmosphere was a little dull, service was initially good but the girl who took our table over was in a rush to get home – it took her 15 minutes to clean our plates, then bought out our dessert when we had only enquired about it not actually ordered it. Garlic and cheese naan was also way too cheesy – recommend to stick with garlic naan here!

Went here because we were new in Hobart and was looking for Asian cuisine after 9 PM. And we weren’t disappointed! We got the Butter Chicken (well seasoned, spicy, a bit too sweet, but overall very delicious) and the Roganjosh (very tender, hot and intense). We ordered the Butter Naan and it was satisfying. I even ordered for seconds!Atmosphere were very Indian; warm and reddish. It was dim but it makes you focus on your plate. Service was decent, better than what I would expect for late night dinner. In summary, when you crave asian/indian in Hobart after 9PM, Annapurna is always a good decision.
