No service at all. We waited in the foyer to be seated for dinner for 10 mins while staff rushed about having to even walk around us & no one acknowledged that we even were there. A bit sad seeing it was a very quiet night.Reminded me of ‘Faulty Towers’So unorganised, don’t even bother! We left & ate up the road.
Not many places to eat in Eaglehawk Neck but this place has a great view. The menu was standard cafe flair but could do with a review. The menu is a bit pricey. I ordered fish of the day ($23.00). It came out quickly and it was tasty. I particularly liked the salad dressing. The coffee was acceptable. The staff on the other hand seemed a bit overwhelmed despite only being 20% occupied. The decor needs an overhaul immediately.
We had the seafood buffet and were really happy with the variety of seafood and the quantity we received, if you don’t like seafood you were catered for as well. We stayed in the newer section on the bottom floor and were really happy with our room, our only fault was you could hear the people above you moving around (unfortunately the people above us were early risers!) The bar shut quite early for a Saturday night but they had had a quiet night even though the place was fully booked. Staff, especially Peter, were great!Would highly recommend- so much to see in this part of Tassie.
We enjoyed our dinner here. Decent food, excellent service and great views. Well loved but well cared for 50’s hotel ambience. Some classic old fashioned dishes chicken parma, seafood baskets, trifle and pavlova. Good value compared to the few other venues in the area. Much better than the Lavender Farm down the road.
We were staying the night at the hotel and there weren’t many eating options so decided to eat here. The view is stunning straight into Pirates bay. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu and quality of food. I decided to go with the Aussie classic chicken parmigiana and my friend had the Scotch steak. We also had the herb bread to start and shared the pear and apple crumble. All the food was super tasty! pocketfullofdreams.com
Lunch with locals and interstate visitors today, the Lufra is an ideal location for lunch whilst exploring Eagle Hawk NeckWe had the Hotels Seafood Buffet ( which is actually delivered to the table) which included seafood chowder followed by platters of various fish and shellfish Lunch was enjoyed by all, with enough variation to please our party ( should mention that if you require a top up of a particular serving the staff are only to happy to accommodate)Would definitely take visitors to the Lufra or spend a leisurely arvo there with the missus
Diana. Am only giving this restaurant the like tick due to the incredible view & situation close to the tascillated pavement. The food was a let down. We had dinner & ordered the fish which was like eating rubber & although I will accept some responsibilty for ordering my fish well done, in retrospect it tasted as if it had been poached & not pan fried as ordered. The veges served with the fish (see pic) were pretty basic too although I did enjoy them as I could not eat the fish. We were not offered any recompense for the fish being spoilt or asked if we wanted it replaced.
