Apparently new owners and same kitchen staff but the menu has certainly been turned up a few notches. Rib eye steak at 500 grams was perfectly cooked and the smashed roast potato was pretty good as were the roast carrots. Parma was a good size and excellent and the vege lasagna was also good but a bit dry on the edges. A definite improvement on pub food offerings in town and I will be back. Great wine list. Everything at reasonable prices too.

Very impressive meals. Was with a large group. All meals came out hot.I had the seafood pasta which had scallops and prawns. This was a creamy oil sauce with chilli. I ordered extra chilli with mine. The seafood had a great texture, a fresh crunch and good flavor. My wife had the vegatarian lasagna. This was perfectly cooked and had an awesome taste.Staff were very nice and well priced.

I came here on a date once and I really enjoyed the food. The service was alright but you can definitely tell the standard of food was typical pub style. Which isn’t bad at all but personally just not my go too type place. But overall my experience was great

Located in Bairnsdale, the Grand Terminus Hotel was established in 1889. The restaurant offers a great range of local meals prepared with local produce. Our top pick from the menu includes the luscious vegetarian lasagne. Think layers of pasta interwoven with pumpkin, spinach, fetta and ricotta before being finished with a rich Napoli sauce. For meat lovers, you cannot go past The Grand Terminus Hotel’s steaks. Our 300 gm scotch fillet was cooked to perfection from end to end and was beautifully tender and flavoursome. If you are after dessert, do not go past the sticky date pudding. An oldie but a goodie, it’s soft, gooey and topped with rich toffee sauce and hearty scoop of vanilla ice cream.

We stopped by for dinner on a reasonably quiet Friday night in the bistro. The tables were about half full and our meals came out promptly – we had the sirloin and the stuffed chicken breast. The meals themselves were reasonable and the ingredients were particularly good (delicious pumpkin) Despite coming out quickly, both dishes came out slightly cold. ‘Average pub food’ would be a fair description of our meals. The service was good. For dessert the Cadbury claw machine arcade game just next to the dining area caught my eye. Because none of the other desserts had any obvious element of chance or skill, the decision was made. Excellent value as for $5 we were able to win eight or so fun-sized chocolates. The strawberry Oreo was the surprising stand-out.
