Four of us showed up on a cold Saturday night and Alfie’s has a chilled dimly lit interior with lots of black tiles that create shimmer with the low lighting. Seating is comfortable on stools rather that chairs and the tables are ample for dining. Staff are unobtrusive and very accommodating, popping up at just the right time to assist. The menu isn’t large but there is more than enough to choose from, with some very interesting items, and portion sizes are very good so you shouldn’t go hungry afterwards! Standouts for us was the Angus rump, Bannockburn chicken, grilled cauliflower and ham hock croquettes. Did I mention it’s dimly lit inside? Also great if you want a quiet night to enjoy company without all the noise of some restaurants. Certainly worth a try!
Cosy little wine bar with sophisticated food menu and impressive wine list. Between two we shared the ham hock croquettes, the anchovies, the cauliflower with blue cheese cream, the char grilled prawns and the octopus with njuda. The octopus and the cauliflower were standouts in particular
