All meals took over an hour and a half to arrive, and our children had finished before the adults meals were delivered resulting in a very late night for them. 3 of our 6 meals were not as described. We had ordered 4 children’s meals and 2 from the ‘specials’ and it wasn’t an overly busy night, so the wait for our meals was very disappointing. No change facilities for babies.

Pizza, Pot & fantastic Music. My partner and I were staying in Hamilton last Thursday (22/01/2015) on our way to South Australia and not being in any great rush to leave in the morning thought we would like to go out for some dinner and entertainment. But being that we were in a small town we did not hold out much hope for our desire. We found that The Commercial Hotel was the only lively place to be open and thought we would give it a go. The attraction for the evening was Pot & Pizza with live music from 8.30. As we are rather partial to good food, drink and live music we were quite pleased with the prospect of such a distraction. My Partner ordered the Potato & Rosemary pizza and I had the Salame Piccante. Both pizza’s were made fresh and light. The crust’s were thin and very enjoyable. The potato pizza was done with a garlic sauce, roast potato, dried rosemary and salt flakes. It was delightful to see a pizza not dripping with cheap cheese as one would expect to find in such a place, a most pleasant surprise. The Salame PIccante had a thin napoli sauce topped with mushrooms, pepperoni, preserved chilli and a sprinkling of cheese. We shared our pizza’s and were both very satisfied. At 8.30 the live music started. It was a very enjoyable set. Further enhanced by locals getting up and singing or bring their own instruments to play along with. All in all the night was most fantastic and we will be definitely be stopping in again on our way back through. Good food, old fashioned pub service and live entertainment, a perfect way to spend a Thursday evening. Many thanks to the Commercial Hotel Hamilton.
