If you’re in Hamilton and after Thai, Racha is the place to go. The menu is quite small. But what they do make is both tasty and affordable. The restaurant itself is very small. So I suggest booking in advance. Not many good places to go in Hamilton so I would choose this as one of the only feasible options.
Ordered take away Green curry chicken here recently with some sides. Sadly very poorly done. The meat was clearly off – it tasted like it was cooked at least 24 hours ago and probably longer and just reheated, making it tough, rancid tasting and just terrible. Unable to finish meal. Vegetables were also stale and sides of spring rolls and curry puffs appeared to be prepared from bulk frozen items not freshly made in store like a proper Thai restaurant. The take out meal was consumed not long after it was prepared so it clearly didn’t go off in the 15 mins or so it took to take it home to eat. Also, there should be no reason why take away customers should have a second-rate experience to those who dine in. Surprising given the previous good reviews, but they appear to be from 2015, not recent, so perhaps the owners have changed or standards have slipped? I hope the owners look into this and correct any deficiencies.

My favourite Thai restaurant ever. The menu is delicious, the staff are so sweet, and it’s very fairly priced. Portions are generous, and the restaurant itself is lovely, very intimate and not too big. The Pad Kee Mao is my favourite, as well as the Calamari. The flavours are an great combo of urban and traditional, and it’s consistently delicious. I would definitely recommend Ratcha Thai.
Pleasent little restaurant with 7 – 8 tables. The down side is that the restaurant is popular and there were no tables left. The up side was we were able to get take away and it was delicious. Pleasant staff to deal with. Will go there again when back in the area.
