Missing the old saigon. Saigon used to be amazing place for us high school students across the street. Five dollar viet sub deal for students, amazing portions, overall a superb place to eat (not just for students too). Now I understand that rent prices likely went up due to the economy, but ever since the owners changed sometime last year, the portions have become puny, prices increased, and the new owners dont seem to realize that customers are becoming increasingly unhappy. In fact, they increased their bubble tea prices and decreased portions for side dishses recently. What once was a go-to place for food for students and others has deteriorated so much. My friends and I no longer come here, and we frequently reminisce about the old saigon.
The grilled pork with vermicelli is good compared to the other nearby Vietnamese restaurants. You get a good amount of vermicelli and quality meat with a tasty sauce. This is my go-to place for grilled pork with vermicelli. As for other Dishes, I have not tried them yet.
BEST SATAY BEEFS SUBS. A whole website could be made devoted to all the places you can get satay beef subs in the city but please believe me when I say that this place is the BEST. This place will completely redefine your expectations in the quality/taste of this staple vietnamese ‘fast-food’.It’s so close to Kim Anh and Thai Tai so you might as well do yourself a favour and walk here. I can’t even eat satay beef subs from anywhere else anymore.
Really good: at first was weary because it was empty n I got the chicken satay baguette n i t was delicious, so pleasantly surprised, I even went n got one for my husband! Nice soft roll, toasted and all the toppings n mildly Spicey!chicken was delish!
Great food and friendly people. Really great Baguette and salad rolls. Flavourful and very reasonable price. I go to this place whenever I want a snack or light meal. The vermicelli and the pho are not as good as the baguette however, maybe that’s why it’s called Saigon BAGUETTE!
I honestly really dislike their pho; I’ve had much better pho at other places.
