Been going here since 2002. My mom stopped by once back then and recommended it to everyone we knew. It was a weekly visit for us, sometimes more. We loved their pastries. Last two times I’ve went the staff were so rude and ignored me and helped everyone else before me. I shrugged it off the first time, and was polite and wasn’t reciprocated. Said thank u and smiled nothing. The second time was even worse they were hiding in the back and I asked for service and they just raised their hand at me. Let me add im a white female and it’s an Asian bakery. They used to be nice but now they just don’t like the white people i guess. Ha. Will be bringing my business elsewhere, and not recommending it anymore. Also their pastries are not nearly as good as they used to be.
I haven’t been to this Chinese bakery in a long time, so I visited it and bought assorted cakes for desserts. Looking at the bakery name, don’t misunderstand that this is a French bakery. I ordered: two cream puffsa blueberry cakea black sesame cakea walnut chocolate cakea chocolate banana cake, a serradura cake (biscuit mousse cake)a mango, pomelo and coconut cakeThe black sesame cake, walnut chocolate cake and chocolate banana cake tasted the best. Overall the quality was good and all of them were not too sweet. This bakery is similar to other Chinese bakeries such as T&T bakery, Saint Germain Bakery and Maxim’s in Greater Vancouver, but I would prefer La Patisserie.
