This is one of the few restaurants in Vancouver that specializes in Eastern European Cuisine. They are located on Denman Street, not far from Stanley Park. In addition to their regular menu, they also offer lunch specials. During my visit there, I had their One Cabbage Roll & Five Perogies off of their lunch menu and also their Chicken Paprika. The food was very tasty; I was particularly impressed by their cabbage roll and chicken paprika. The prices are also fairly reasonable. The service is casual, but fairly efficient and friendly. All in all, this is a place that I’d definitely recommend checking out.One Cabbage Roll & Five Perogies ($9.95):3.5/5This was offered on their lunch special menu. The perogies come in a few different varieties, I went with potato and cheddar. The perogies had a good amount of filling, which was quite savoury and flavourful, although I did find it to be a bit on the dry side. I really enjoyed the cabbage roll, which was essential like a large meatball enclosed in cabbage, and was very tender and moist, and well-seasoned and flavourful.Chicken Paprika ($16.95):4.5/5This consisted of three pieces of chicken thighs and was served with dumplings and a thick sauce. The chicken was extremely tender, flavourful and came right off the bone, and by virtue of being dark meat, it was very tender and juicy. The ‘dumplings’ actually tasted exactly like Chinese mantou, and were soft, fluffy and chewy. They were bland on their own, but tasted quite good when dipped in the gravy, which was thick, savoury and flavourful.Summary:Food: 4/5Price: 4/5Service: 3.5/5Overall: 4/5Recommendations: Cabbage Roll, Chicken Paprika
