Mucho Macho Marvelous. My colleague & I had the Mucho Macho soup today for the first time, and it was excellent & very filling. My only complaint, it was a bit lukewarm & we’d only walked about 2 minutes before sitting down to eat. Lots of corn chips to break into the soup & it was filled with chicken, rice, cheese, chorizo – super yummy & I will definitely be back for it.Also – LOTS of gluten free options which is AWESOME!!
Gluten-free friendly. I really appreciate that they are so gluten-free friendly so they deserve a 5 out of 10 stars on that alone. This Celiac had no issues at all. I had the veggie burrito salad bowl and was underwhelmed to say the least. It was definitely spicy which is good (you have the choice of mild or spicy), However I found the grilled veggies to be gross, mostly overcooked cactus, cabbage and onion with a heavy smoke flavour. The black beans were good, the rice was not. I swear it had the consistency of minute rice. It probably wasn’t but whatever it was it was not good. The shredded lettuce and fresh salsa was nice, but not enough to redeem the dish. There was a little bit of cheese, and a little bit of guacamole, I could have used more of both. Price and serving size was good, I got two meals out of it even with not eating the grilled veggies. I might give them another try given the mostly positive reviews, maybe a different dish?
Line ups down the block. This place rocks. Always huge lines in the summer around lunch time. Under $10 for enough food to feed 2-3 people. The staff is super friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you get what you want. I suggested they use a tortilla shell in the salad bowl, and apparently they don’t want to use anything fried, which is understandable. So instead they hooked me up with some tortilla chips on top at no extra charge, awesome! Really good food, good prices and good staff. Highly recommended.
Where’s the chicken?. The unfourtunate practice of stuffing a burrito / shawarma with rice in lieu of meat is wide spread in this city but it seemed even more obvious here than at other offenders. I’m eagerly waiting for someone to buck this trend and stop rationing chicken as if it were blue fin tuna.
I’m still thinking about the delicious bowl of tortilla soup I had 4 days ago… Ummmm. Unlike any other I’ve tasted, and just packed full of Flavour!
Yummy. I have no complaints about my lunch at Arturo’s regarding the food. It was quick, fresh, and yummy. Good, but not quite as good as the Mexican we have had in the States. The man taking our order was a bit grumpy with me when I didn’t say white or whole wheat tacotina and then proceeded to bark it at me and my husband. Sorry bud, having never been there before we didn’t realize we had the choice. Oh but Where was the Jarritos?
Spicy on the go!. This popular food truck near waterfront was the place of my mid afternoon snack today.I wanted something small and the tacotino fit the bill. It’s a wheat flour tortilla with a shredded pork filling, chipotle lime sauce and onions. The meat was juicy and the seasoning was spot on. However, ordering medium spicy was a little much for me! Next time I’ll get mild… = ) I’ll be back to try their other offerings. The owner is also very friendly. He smiled at me when I was just walking past and then offered to give me some tips if I ever get a food truck. One can dream right?
