Nice interior, very nice staff/serverOrdered the spaghetti and meatballs, was dissapointed. The sauce tastes very plain and generic, reminded me of ketchup. Girlfriend had the fish tacos, they were very cold and she wasn’t pleased with the flavor at all, she dident even finish her foodThey should go to Cactus Club and compare dishes.
I havent been to Sammy J’s in a while. The place is pretty quiet, which i dont mind. Service was good. The manager came around to check on all the tables which i appreciated. The food was great. I had the new orleans combo skillet, and i’ll be getting it again.
The pork tacos on the appetizer menu where great, I would go back for these, bit spicy but great.
Great Food. If you want food with amazing taste, Sammy J’s in Coquitlam is the place to go. We have 3 teenage daughters and the only place they would go around here is Sammy J’s. The restaurant is modern and gorgeous and the service is great. The lobster tails are delicious and the drinks are fabulous. Best bellini’s around.
Great Food. I live in Coquitlam and Sammy J’s has the best tasting food hand down. My new favorite place. The decor is modern and the staff are great. Everything I have ordered there is delicious. It’s nice to find a place that has great tasting food so close to home and the menu is different from the boring chain restaurants around here. The lobster tails are to die for. My teenage kids and husband love it as well.
First off, the negative reviews on here are understandable but no different from any other restraunts. I don’t think you have to completely write the place off and never come back. If I did that with every place I had ONE bad experience with, there would be no-where to eat. I frequent Sammy’s almost weekly and have ordered probably 95% of the menu and let me tell you, everything is delicious, creative, and good value portions. Not many people know that they make almost every sauce they use IN-HOUSE. That alone puts them above any big franchise place (Boston Pizza, Earls, Cactus Club, etc.) in my books. The staff is an amazing group that work hard and do their best to make sure you have a more than pleasant experience. If things are running a little slow, it’s usually because they have a packed house with no empty seats. For the amount of times I’ve been there, never had to send anything back, or complain about the time it takes. All in all, fantastic place to go for any occasion, especially during football season where they have a pick’em style pool you can join, Sunday ticket and show every game on their 5 monster tvs with a great brunch menu and appy’s on special (hot wings are excellent). Do not let the negative reviews on here make you wary, you will miss out on this fine establishment!
This is the first time I’ve been back to Sammy J’s in 3 years and it seems they have totally renovated the restaurant and the menu .. It was a little pricey compared to earls but the food was really good and the service was just okay I generally prefer waiters over waitresses though
