I was using the Oakridge centre washroom when i witnessed TWO kitchen staff enter the washroom, fully dressed in kitchen attire (Chef hats, Aprons, white shirt/black work pants), Urinate then leave without washing their hands. An elderly gentleman even yelled at them to wash their hands, to which they laughed off and spoke their own dialect as they walked off. Absolutely disgusting. I’ll never visit Peninsula.
Peninsula Seafood Restaurant is a high end Chinese restaurant at Oakridge District. Highly recommend to make reservation for avoiding an hour wait. We tried two of their featured dishes (House Special Peninsula Buns + Pan Fried Taro and Radish Cake). Not bad but not the best!
My family came here for mother’s day dimsum, the usual Asian tradition. Dimsum for everything. It was our first time trying this place and my first impressions were that it’s clean and highly priced. I was not sure what I was paying extra for. There wasn’t a wait surprisingly at 1pm and service was a lot better than most Chinese restaurants.Of course the dishes came out and I have to say it was worth the extra money. As you can see in the photos their presentation was on point. I also got too excited to eat so forgot to take better photos of the dimsum dishes:x The food were well made and high quality ingredients were used.I really want to come back to try their ‘house peninsula buns’ they were so big and fluffy but I didn’t get a chance to order them!
To be fair enough, the taste of dim sum is quite ok. But the quantity is quite tiny: 3 pieces only for buns for instance. Service is terrible. We have our order sheet to a waitress but nothing came back in half an hour. They lost our order! Even though we paid our tips in the end we decided not to be back and not recommend this restaurant to our friends. This place, to me, is the place for those wealthy people who mind driving to Richmond to have more options. Competitions make business harp but not to Peninsula apparently.
Came here right when it opened. Apparently, it would be better if we had reservation. In any case, we got seated right away since the place is not full. The prices are very high for dim sum and especially the dishes. However, the food were well prepared and presented, and very tasteful.
Horrible one!!!! We have five people and one 10 months baby, they told us that we have to wait between 30-40 minutes. they marked down my phone numbers and said they gonna call me when they have table. after 40 minutes I came back they told me the table not ready yet, after 20 minutes more I came back one waitress(35+ yrs old) told me they give me a call but i missed it. I checked my phone nothing there and show to her. she being vary angry and said that’s my problem we have to wait again. she looks don’t care the reputation and customer’s satisfaction. They have a lots of customer so they don’t care..The first time I saw waitress being rude like that in front of baby and other customers.
