Bad. Very expensive/ over priced crap meal, and not cooked right. Service was Ok, Very loud dinning room. Will not return, neither any of my family/mates. Ordered 12 oz. New York steak dinner. Was more like a 6oz. and way over done. did not taste right, shoe leather. Veg was a few raw beans and 2 pcs of red pepper about the size of a quarter. The only good thing was the baked potato. That potato cost me 33$. Seriously, Avoid this place.
Beer?. OK so I get that it’s all about the wine pairings, but if Management was to stay in touch, they might have noticed a huge rise in Craft Beer interest. Why on earth does a place that calls its self a Steak house not have a Stout or Porter on it’s Beer Menu? Hmmmm? Anyone?? Come on folks stay in touch!
The Fare is consistently good…. The food is relatively good on a consistent basis. Great steaks and grilled vegetables. My wish would be for the wait staff to be so also. It ranges from playful to depressed to ‘this isn’t my real job’. Being a business owner myself, I understand the challenges of hiring ‘good people’. The food will keep me going back though.
Who invited Billy Miner?. I chose to have my ‘birthday meal’ at the Keg this week. My parents and I were asked if we were celebrating anything special as we were seated. The server was attentive and helpful but the music was so loud we all found it difficult to hear what was being said. It was difficult to hear our own conversation as well. To their credit, the music volume decreased slightly when we brought it to the server’s attention. The food was delicious–prime rib and steak was ordered and came in reasonable time, and was cooked exactly as ordered. Then, surprisingly, a giant piece of ice cream cake (it’s called the Biller Miner Pie) was delivered to our table. I’d never been here for a birthday before, so I figured it was similar to other restaurants that recognize it’s your birthday and treat you. We didn’t order dessert, as we had cake waiting for us at home.It came as a great surprised, and seemed a bit sketchy, that the cake was added to our bill. If The Keg is going to make us pay for something we didn’t order, I’d have MUCH preferred blowing a candle out that was stuck in the Baked Brie, as I prefer cheese to ice cream. Or, perhaps a little closer to a birthday theme… crab cakes. 🙂 I’d rather pay for something I WANT to eat.
Good food, garbage service. On one occasion, we got one steak but not the other. It took maybe another 35 minutes to get the second steak. Staff apologized and second steak was on the house. On another occasion, a waitress left us stranded for 40 minutes (couldn’t even order). We just left and went to the sushi place across the lot. I will not be coming back, ever.
Flavour, Flavour, Flavour. Wonderful meal. Perfectly cooked steak scallops and shrimp, all extremely tender, with delicious sauce, vegetables and baked potato. It might not sound like an exciting meal, but they know how to pack a load of unique, savory flavor into something as simple as peppers and mushrooms.Another thing, this place is consistently delicious. This isn’t a ‘one good experience’ thing, it’s ALWAYS this great.
Awesome!. Probably the most consistent restaurant I visit. The food and service are always perfect and it’s nice to know that when I spend my money on a night out that I’m going to have a great experience with no surprises. Love the Keg – Waterloo, I will always return here! Well done!
