Zero stars for food handling safety. I used to go every now and then because the prices were good and the quality of the fish seemed decent, especially for the price. Until I witnessed some disgusting practices. The sushi chef picked his nose before making sushi. He did not wash his hands. And I saw the other sushi chef handle dirty, non food and non cooking equipment before making sushi. Also not washing his hands before handling food. I wanted to gag. My friend took me out for lunch here. It was busy during lunch with a lot of office workers on their break. The restaurant is small and korean operated. Of course we got bentos, it was tasty. I ordered the donkatsu and it was crisp, oil was fresh and the dipping sauce was good. They make korean dishes like bulgogi which you can’t go wrong with either. Staff is friendly, but nothing wants me coming back.

We came early one Thursday evening, it was pretty empty when we got there, only one other table was taken.The decor is really nice. Wood. I like that. It looks nice with clean straight lines. Comfortable and welcoming.The food was good, satisfying, well priced. Good, not great. The rice was a bit mushy. Loved the salmon. The beef was tough and grisly. Maybe it was an off night. I’m sure I’ll be back to update the review.Service was okay. There were very few customers and it was slow.It’s a good restaurant, not the best in the place, definitely not the worse. First time here was good. Received free hand rolls and the bento boxes were decent. Second time coming back, the food quality had drop dramatically. There was no A/C when I had went. The maki in the bento box was all end pieces and the rest of the bento box was just unmentionable. The food was a disappointment! Unfortunately, will not be coming back. Sorry hana-bi
This is my go-to sushi joint. I have never tasted salmon so fresh anywhere else in Markham! I especially like their Orange Roll and the classic spicy salmon roll. Sometimes they will give you an extra snack on the house (ex. extra roll or a hand roll) yum! Highly recommended!
Been here a few times. This review will be based on the last time I came here. I ordered the Chirashi Don. I wouldn’t recommend it. The rice had too much moisture in it so it was too soft and sticky. Also they put the radish shreds and this huge leaf of a vegetable in the bowl, taking up a lot of the space. While neither of them were really edible or commonly seen in chirashi don. Other than that, I think their service not bad. Their tempura fryer broke a while after we got there and ordered tempura, so they had to ask us to change our orders. Later on one of the sushi chefs came out with a complimentary plate of sushi roll for the inconvenience they caused, which I thought was really good service wise. But they do seem to have not enough workers or servers. Overall, I think this restaurant is not bad. Decent food and service.
We have been coming here for a couple years. Today we went back and noticed a big change: rolls are way smaller, no free soup, salad and ice cream, prices are much higher, and the old owners would give free hand rolls quite often. We asked and found out there are new owners as of three months ago. Unfortunately we will not be back!!
