2017/05/15We come up to Fenelon Falls about once a year, and today we had an opportunity to try Dockside Grill for lunch. This is the week before the May long weekend, and the restaurant was just under half full. I’m guessing they were mainly full time residents of the area, just before the onslaught of the cottagers. The menu had a fair selection of items for breakfast (until 1 pm), lunch, and dinner, including sandwiches, burgers, salads, entres and more. SWMBO chose the Chicken Pesto Melt from the sandwich menu. Grilled breast meat on a bun, with melted cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and some pesto. She said it tasted okay, but it was a bit awkward to hold, as the ingredients kept shifting around. I ordered the Monte Cristo, and upgraded my side to Onion Rings for $1. While the typical Monte Cristo comes with ham and cheese, Dockside uses grilled chicken instead of ham. Also, they added a touch of sweet relish that gave it a bit of an odd taste. The bottom side of the sandwich got soggy on the plate. Good onion rings though; nice and crunchy.
