2017/08/25We were heading up to our friends’ cottage, and we stopped in Fenelon Falls for lunch as well as sightseeing. Last time through we had noticed Murphy’s, so we decided to eat there. The patio was full, as was most of the inside, but we still managed to get a table without waiting. My guess is inside and outside seating was about 75. Depending on where you are sitting, you can get a nice view of the Fenelon Falls locks. Although it did not take long to order drinks, it did take a while to place our food order. SWMBO ordered the One Piece Fish & Chips. The fish was cod, the batter was crispy, and the tartar sauce was different than most, possibly with a touch of mustard. SWMBO liked her dish. I was going to order their featured Mahi Mahi Tacos, but our server said the dish had three very small tacos, and it was more of an appetizer. Maybe their specials board should have indicated that? I switched to the Reuben Sandwich, with a side salad. The sandwich was mostly okay, but I prefer the cheese to be melted. Then it took a while to get our server’s attention so that we could pay. Yes, the place was busy, but they had four staff working the front of the house, and I don’t think it should have taken as long as it did to take our original order, or to pay.
