Fabulous Ambiance. The Tamashi and the other place in LaSalle, having the same owner provide the best experience in the city for sushi lovers. Ambiance, atmosphere, service, quality of seafood is just great! Try lobster sushi rolls…

Expensive menu. I went to tamashi for a birthday party. The table d’hote doesn’t include dessert and coffee… What kind of table d’hote is that? The items on the menu are fairly normal for an asian restaurant, but 19$ for a pad thai or 22$ for grilled beef, chicken and shrimp, it’s 10$ higher than other similar restaurant. You would expect a wow factor, but no. The food is good, but not great. I would go back if it wasn’t for the price. It’s also very noisy, good for groups, but not for a date.

Not impressed…. On the plus side: great ambiance/decor and friendly service. However, on the dowside: the food and the prices. I tried the general tao and the chichen with peanut butter sauce. Both were in the $20-$25 price range which is partically double what other restaurants charge for the same dishes ($10-$15). The general tao was soggy and dissapointing. The peanut buttter chichen was overcooked and tough. Yes, the portions are huge, but I rather have a reasonable-sized, good quality meal than an oversized pile of garbage.

Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff. Wonton soup is good enough to cry over,(if you add siracha and soya sauce!!) good portion sizes. Curry and general Tao good. Fresh sushi

On the Fence…Good Food so-so Service. The portions are big, but the prices reflect this too. They could serve smaller portions for less $ and it would be fine.Service has never been a hit when I’ve been here. Was a little surprised to see a person walking with a broom and dustbin around the corner, and then have that same person take my order when he realised we were there. The food is good and flavourful. The downstairs decor is a reason to try this place once.Koi pond and intimate dining tables make it unique.
