Since April, the Forsthaus Rote Schleuse in the heart of the Lneburger Tiergarten on the bank of the Ilmenau has had a shiny new look that appeals to cyclists, walkers, families and those wishing to dine in the country alike. In fine weather you can enjoy coffee and freshly-made tray bakes on the garden terrace or summery refreshment and a hearty snack beneath the ancient trees in the beer garden. Sitting sociably on the benches in the comfortably-furnished restaurant with its open fire you can enjoy a real feast. The menu offers freshly-prepared country dishes including home-made classics and hearty appetisers. This little banqueting hall in the forest is an excellent venue for weddings, family gatherings and celebrations of all kinds for up to 80 persons.
