About
Khan Gostar restaurant occupies the ground floor of Jolfa (Julfa) hotel. The hotel is situated in the Armenian Quarter of Esfahan, (diagonally) opposite to Vank Church, one of the main non-Islamic sights in the city. Despite 3-star hotel accommodation ranking, Jolfa boasts having one of the best restaurants in Esfahan, and this is absolutely true! Although very simple in interior and service, looking more like a canteen than a restaurant, Khan Gostar surely outruns famous posh Abbasi in terms of meal. One the most extensive menus Ive seen in Iran; traditional Persian food only. Rich and fresh salad and desserts bars, self-catered. They also make best coffee in Iran, which is (so rare!) not an instant Nescafe. My local drivers, when asked about it, whispered in excitement: very good, but very expensive! The bill came at USD 20 (indeed, very expensive for Iran), but it was nearly my best dining experience all over the country. Dont seem to have a web-site. But the place is very-well known locally and is mentioned in the web, in particular here
