Unfortunately my review is based merely on the interaction with one member of staff. Such a negative ‘ welcome ‘ that we decided to leave.My sister, who I must admit can be quite a weapon, requested a secluded table, out of the way because she needed to breastfeed her baby. The man said we couldn’t have that table because we’d be blocking an entrance. That wasn’t quite the case but we accepted that we might be in the way so we asked for a similar table. He directed us to the first table as you enter the restaurant. We mentioned the preference for privacy again and so he offered us another table, also just as you walk in. We didn’t answer immediately and so he said ‘how about you sit wherever you like ‘, whilst turning his back on us and walking away. Slightly miffed but hungry we moved over to the table. As we began to settle in another member of staff said we couldn’t put our babies there because it was beside the hot service area.We decided to go elsewhere, to a nearby cafe known to be baby friendly.My sister was actually a little upset at the happenings and decided to go back to explain why we left. The man said he appreciated her repeat custom but the conversation soon descended into him saying it wasn’t a breastfeeding issue and generally being unpleasant.A shame really as I’ve heard good things of this place and was quite looking forward to trying it out for myself.

Our first time dining here yesterday early evening. The restaurant has a lovely ambience with low level lighting and candles but unfortunately the place was cold! Hubby started with liver pate and I had the wings. Both were very good but the blue cheese dip with the wings was too thin and lacked flavour! Seconds were the burger which hubby enjoyed, a chargrilled flavour and it would have be perfect! I had the rump steak which was cooked as requested and was tender and tasty. Deserts were apple crumble, the crumble being disappointing and mango cheesecake which was very good. A nice bistro but bring a jumper!
