Have been here 3 times and every single time we’ve been its been bad. The first time I came in with my sister for drinks with her boyfriend and his family. The waitress told my sister she couldn’t get any alcohol -( even though my sister was fully sober and 25 and just arrived to the restaurant) The waitress said my sister had to get food if she wanted alcohol so my sister said she would order some fries and then the waitress said she had to get a proper meal and was really rude about it. So my sister just didn’t have anything because she was so angry. The second time I came here was with my Mum and brother for dinner and we got the ‘cheesy garlic bread’ to share and then my brother had the kids burger and my Mum and I got the ‘greek salad’ which wasn’t like a traditional one it had lots of additions. The meal was below average. Then I recently came here for breakfast with my Dad & brother and Dad had the ‘Agria Potato Rosti’ withPork belly, poached egg, apple sprout salad, cider syrup and even though my Dad loves salty food he said this meal was WAY too salty and was really unenjoyable. I got the ‘avo smash’ and it was presented pretty bad – looked like everything was just thrown on and was really salty as-well and horrible. The bill also came to around $100 for 2 meals and a kids meal and 3 drinks which is just unbelievablyover priced especially because we all disliked our meals. Not worth it. Do not recommend.

We ordered a couple of beers (the Sweatshop APA was quite good), then ordered the chicken waffles with bacon and the buffalo chicken burger with wedges.I was warned by the waitress that the Buffalo chicken burger was going to be spicy. Perfect, I like it like that!The burger was just ok……I was disappointed that it wasnt spicy. Decent size, a couple of buffalo chicken prices, coleslaw on a brioche bun. It needed the hot buffalo sauce.It would have been a really good dish (and I would have given it a 5) if they had thick chunky fries with a blue cheese sauce.Ive had the chicken waffles before, I was given the thumbs up with my recommendation today 🙂
Staff were nice however the service was quite slow. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries which was ok, I couldnt finish it as it was quite big and meaty. Best part of the meal was probably the platter (as pictured) as it had a variety of meats to nibble on and was a great idea to get while waiting for our main meals. Also had the profiteroles for dessert which were also ok, they could be more tasteful. Overall, Francs has a great atmosphere and the restaurant is laid out in a nice way and the menu is great – theres so much potential for this place, if they made the food tastier or more flavoursome. Will probably give it half a year before we visit again to see if there have been any improvements.
What happened? I had fond memory with this place. Other then the view and the music, everything was to forget. Despite many wait staff with only a few tables, service was slow. Coffee got no kick. Food was cold. Deep fried stuff like fries, chicken and soft shell crabs were not crunchy. Also tasted out of balance.
Mean burgers and cocktails! Spicy Bloody Mary that cured my hangover. Nice spot with outdoor seating. Was hyping up for the Mac and cheese bites but theyre were a 6.5/10, needed salt.Returned here again tonight and the dinner menu was so delicious!!! Pork belly and Mekong Beef made a few requests to swap things out of meals and add things in and Francs was more than accomodating.
Terrible service, plenty of staff on but we were ignored the whole time. Would have ordered food and more wine but couldnt get any service, all the waitresses walking around avoiding eye contact. We were there for at least an hour. Had to wave a girl down to order coffees after we first got sat down and later had to go to the bar to get a wine. As soon as we left the a few waitresses honed in to clear the table. Go figure. Must be loosing so much business as multiple people struggle for staff attention to order anything. Sort it out.
