As soon as we entered ,the ambience made me really happy, perfect to set a mood for a good dinner night . The service was excellent, we were greeted and served by really friendly staff .This was the first time I visited Madam Woo and the menu very smartly advertises their Signature Dish : Hawker Rolls, so you kind of feel obligated to order the Rolls and even the staff recommends you to try the dish. We ordered the Percik Chicken hawker roll. The combination of salad, coconut and chicken did not really click with me :|However, I did enjoy the Satay Chicken and the Five spice fried chicken , really yummy . It is something you cant really go wrong with . I had the crouching Tiger Mocktail to drink , it was a bit strong but nice. For mains I ordered Nasi Lemak completely forgetting that it would come with dry fish (Not a big Fan of fish), so I did not really enjoy that , but the coconut rice that came along was quite authentic. I personally enjoyed the appetisers more than the mains. However, overall it is a nice place to visit if your around Takapuna :DNote: The place is usually quite busy even on Weekdays , ideal to make reservations.
Madam Woo is damn perfect, I went here recently with my now ex boyfriend and we both loved it, I got the Percik chicken Hawker roll and he got the Pulled sticky pork Hawker roll, we both really enjoyed it as it was full of flavour and filled us right up. The only thing I didn’t like was how spicy it was even though it was supposed to be mild. The restaurant was super modern and trendy defiantly good for instagram photos. 9/10 would recommend trying x
Came here for my partners birthday a while ago and had such an awesome experience! there was a large group of us but the waiters were so patient and helpful, while we all enjoyed our food! So many great vegetarian options which is so nice to see. Would highly recommend!
Been wanting to come for a long time but friends have warned me about the below average food. And they were not wrong, unfortunately the Char kway teow was too oil and most of the dish had burned black parts in it. A good char kway teow should be a bright to dark ish orange but this was dark brown. I don’t know if I was colour blind that night. Though judging from the colour thankfully it wasnt salty so it was not all a waste. The salad was refreshing but there was parts that were bitter. The roti was fluffy but tiny!
Lovely place, great food, pricey – but not, at the same time. Whenever I go to Takapuna I always come here for the amazing Nasi Lemak. Not only is the best Nasi Lemak Ive ever had but its super cheap. The laska used to be a favorite but the noodles have changed and its not the same anymore. The design and atmosphere is great for a date but make sure you book first!
