When they first opened the food was amazing and I would go there weekly, but he last two times the meat has been of an incredibly poor quality and has been mostly fat, bone and sinew/stringy bits. Really unpleasant. The first time it was bad we passed it off as a bad day, or different cook, but today my husband and I had two lamb bunnies, and between us both there wasn’t one edible piece of meat. It’s so sad when good places start cutting corners and dropping the quality.
Amazing food! I would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Durban meal. We ordered the Cornish and Mutton Bunny and it was devine. Generous with the portions of meat and huge potatoes. Portions are quiet big so the second time we shared a cornish curry and rice. The meals are prepared on an outside fire which is the best! The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant and the owners made an effort to put out plants etc. They have a lovely food truck setting. I would highly recommend Maharani’s!
Lots of people were raving about this place on other social media sites. Being optimistic I went there to try their food. Very disappointing to say the least as the meat in the lamb bunny was stiff like it was boiled and added later to the curry. The pieces were of very poor quality (fatty, full of bones and rib meat). My brother had a curry and Roti and had a similar bad experience.
Food was great, service was very pleasant and pretty fast. Good value meals. A nice little road side place, quaint spot to stop for a simple good lunch.
We had the pleasure of having a lamb Bunny chow. As soon as the bunny hit the table you could get a delicious smell. One of the best bunny chows i had in a long time. Well worth the price we paid. Would recommend to others and will defnitely visit again soon. Thank u so much Take care and GOD bless All.
