I’ve walked past this store a million times thinking they just do coffee, cake and ground coffee/coffee bean sales. Turns out they actually have a full on menu and even the odd box of cigars for retail. The menu has the usual suspects: breakfast, salads, wraps, sarmies, tramazini’s etc. they also have a hot meal of the day special on their blackboard. Today was chicken curry with yellow rice, which sounded like a good hearty meal. Good it was! It tasted like a home cooked meal that someone’s mom lovingly cooked up. And like any mom, because she was afraid you’d go hungry, she dished up an extra big portion. The owner (at least I assume she was the owner) was an absolute ray of sunshine. Very engaging and really enjoyed her conversation. The cakes on the counter-top, where was seated, was such a temptation. This time around I avoided it (huge lunch portion helped). But I’m already making plans to come back for desserts.
