Decent food, terrible service.. Family went out to eat at Cracker Barrel in Russellville Sunday night. Usually the food and the service is pretty good, but not tonight. We had to ask for refills more than once, and were checked up on only close to the end of our meal. It wasn’t just the server who ignored us either. I saw 2 managers that stood around and just chatted with each other while the wait staff was delivering food.
Sad plate of food. We ate there a couple days ago and my husband ordered the Sampler that came with meatloaf, chicken and dumplings and ham he also ordered Broccoli casserole and apples and mashed potatoes as his sides. They brought out his plate and it looked like a childs plate. There was no meatloaf or broccoli casserole instead they put hashbrown casserole. There was maybe 3 dumplings and a peice of chicken and a little peice of ham. The waiter apologized and asked if my husband wanted another side to replace the meatloaf. He asked for ham and finally after he had eaten what little was there they brought him another itty bitty peice of ham. I would have been embarrassed as a cook to have sent that plate out. Really wasn’t worth the money at all. All the rest of our food was ok. But not worth the money we paid for it.

Call me crazy but I believe it is customary for the guest to enjoy their meal and then have the check delivered. Also, I seriously wanted dessert and the server never asked if we would like one. And something is completely wrong with their gravy. Too much pepper, baking soda added…? No clue but it tastes off and unfortunately they put it on everything!
I have to be in the right mood for Cracker Barrel but I’ve never been disappointed. The fried chicken on Sunday’s is probably the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The chicken and dumplings are pretty good too!
Breakfast remains decent
A what on the menu?. My kids love this place but i clearly have a problem with a place that has meatloaf sandwich on the menu. that isnt a meal its just something thrown together and charged 8 bucks for. The breakfast here is not bad…. but the sales pitch of having to walk thru the store is a bit annoying with 50 kids in there running wild before you get seated. Hint: stress looses appetites ………………also pissed off ppl dont tip well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3/15/2017 update, tried this place again and this time i wasnt disappointed. Had the trout and it was de;licious, and the waitresses were great. i still have the same problem of being trapped in the store front with a bunch of kids, i just solved that by going in off hours.
