Pleasantly surprised to see a listing for a south indian restaurant close to my hotel. Culver city, where this restaurant is located isn’t the best of neighborhoods. The restaurant was easily visible from the road. Parking is available, but it may be tight at peak times. The decor and ambiance is not what would bring me back to this restaurant, but I wouldn’t avoid going there either because of the lack of it. The waiter was very non-verbose. I ordered an idli vada combo and a Mysore dada dosa. I was surprised that the idli was actually piping hot and very edible. The vada was a disappointment. Didn’t seem fresh, felt I was chewing on leather. Sambhar was passable but the chutney suffered the same fate most south indian restaurant suffers from, the all pervading smell of coconut. The Mysore sada dosa followed promptly. The batter, texture of the dosa was good. The Mysore paste looked a bright red. I fear for my stomach tomorrow! I would drop by again, just cause I love south indian food!

Nice Dosas. Good for south Indian Dishes. They have improved on their service timings as well. Not my fav for North Indian Dishes.

Fabulous, authentic south Indian. If u like it spicy try Vada with rasam. Mysore masala dosa rocks also!

Love love love it. It is, however, entirely vegetarian, so if you don’ t want veggie food, don’t go. I have spent some time in India and this is REAL indian food – they have a lot of wonderful south indian dishes that you may not have tried before. All of the food is great, really some of the best indian on the west side. ok, and while totally tacky, the TV/web terminals throughout are actually quite authentic – it’s sort of a middle-upper tier restaurant thing in india to have web access. which makes me like it more. And you can tell just how authentic it is by the fact that it is usually full of indian families.
