Just had a wonderful meal here with my family!! People dogged the service, but ours was excellent-kindly fulfilled our request to sit in the back even after they had started to prep a table up front for us, patient & attentive server got as an app on the table quickly & came back a few times until we were ready to order, plates were cleared right away. Everything we ordered was excellent & we spent most of the meal passing plates around to taste each others food. Can’t wait to go back!
Great atmosphere & bar but the restaurant was awful. Ordered the lamb chop lollipop app and it arrived in an embarrassing state. Only 2 of the 5 chops looked correct – the other 3 looked as though they’d already been eaten. The meat had clearly been cut off by an untalented chef and we were presented with chops that looked like bones with a little meat still clinging. Fine, mistakes happen, but where it became intolerable was after we brought it to the attention of our server…the server brought the manager who gave us a song and dance about different cuts of lamb, basically said we were crazy, didn’t fix it, didn’t bring us a new order and didn’t comp the order. I was staring at a chop and could clearly see the serrations where a knife had removed the meat while he was lying to us about the nuances of butchery. Other than that, the food was decent but not noteworthy. The burger was way to sweet with the caramelizef onions with no spice to balance it out. I’d go back for drinks to enjoy the bar but I wouldn’t eat there again.
Venice Happy Hour visits Culver City!. http://www.venicehappyhour.com/2/post/2009/10/the-girl-gets-around.html
Go for the Burgers, just don’t expect great service….. I went w/ a friend of mine for dinner here since it was the only place that was open so late in Downtown Culver City and wasn’t horribly overpriced. We both decided on the dry aged burger which we were not disappointed with. It as extremely juicy and whatever sauce they put on that burger gave it a bit of a kick and the shoestring fires were amazing. My only gripe is some of the items (like the sides) seemed overpriced and the waitress didn’t really pay much attention to us. I understand that there was a cute guy sitting behind us but we require napkins and silverware too! Don’t come looking for me asking me to buy another beer when we have to take the silverware off of another table. Next time I come I’m asking for 2 glasses of water along w/ my beer so I don’t have to depend on the waitress (oh, and check that you have silverware before you sit down!).
Reminds me of Home. I like it simply because I’m from Chicago and that’s the continuing theme and hook to this place. Can’t be mad at the bar and the chicago-styled hot dogs!
Service was horendous. This place looks really cool from the ouside, so me and my friends went to check it out, we were brushed off as whatever with the servers and then from then on it was just not a good night there, maybe it was just that night, but we left and just went next door.
Not the best service. It is too bad that the service is not better. The place is nice but does not make up for the service. The place is new so we will give them a little break for now.
