I tried this place for the first time and was very pleased both with the food and level of service. They have a very convenient parking lot with free parking too! I went for their happy hour and had:Deviled eggs – pretty good but not quite deviled eggs per se. It is a hardboiled egg but has more smoked salmon than egg yolk. Either way I thought it tasted good. Truffle fries – they do NOT skimp on the cheese! It was maybe my favorite dish we had! It comes with an aioli as well but I actually just liked it with ketchup. Definitely get these!Fried mushrooms – i LOVE mushrooms any way and these ones were no different. Super succulent and flavorful! Not at all soggy. Highly recommend!
I’ve been coming to The Wood for years now. It all started with a breakfast meet up. I ordered The Wood Bagel. Cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado, shaved parm, basil, tomato and olive oil. HOOKED! Happy hour serves up cheap beers and the best chicken tenders around. The Wood Burger, Polenta Veggie Plate and Biscuits and Gravy are spot on. It’s like elegant comfort food at an insanely reasonable price with patio seating. Pure local love. Oh and their Pot du Creme …. You want it all. sundayspentcooking.com
The Wood is one of our favorite dinner places in Culver City. The burger and cioppino are delicious. The outdoor seating by the fire pit is great. We just tried it out for brunch and we loved it just as much. You can still order the burger, but the soyriso tacos with tomatillo salsa might be my preferred brunch option. There’s little to no wait even on Friday nights, which is always surprising but also a huge relief. I’ve heard complaints about slow service, but we’ve never had that problem. lucismorsels.com

Fresh Oysters on Wednesday. It seems they dive for these oysters moments before offering them at the restaurant because they’re so fresh – salty from the sea, delicious texture and divine. Best part? They have an amazing deal on Wednesdays – just $3 each. I could eat 2 dozen!07 Sep, 2011Frito Misto. I love this dish and order it everytime I go to The Wood. They delicately bread and lightly deep fry fresh shrimp and organic local veggies (almost like a tempura) and offer a finger licking aioli dip with it. Mm-mm-mm
Excellent food-their sandwiches are incredible. But next time I’m there I need to try the macaroni, which I smelled last time and it literally made my mouth water. The staff is great, the baristas know coffee, and there’s free wi fi.
The Wood is Great!. The wood is a great place to study, eat, chat or chismiar(Gossip). The employees are so nice they personally put candles at you table at 7:30 adding a nice special touch weather you spend 2 dollars or more. It is rare to find this quality of service these days. You can regularly catch the owner to the restaurant and have a good chat in general. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and just have some chill time.
