Average food; TERRIBLE SERVICE & MANAGEMENT. I ate at VIA UNO Cucina as part of a large rehearsal dinner (20+ people) on August 31. The food was ok but nothing special – pizza crust was dry and the pasta was too salty. The service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. One of the waitresses was extremely careless – first, spilling water and then, spilled half a plate of pasta all over my back and also on my suit jacket. I didn’t want to make a big fuss at the time as it might embarrass the hosts but the manager said he would take care of it. Beyond this insincere apology, management only offered to pay for the dry cleaning when I got back home; nothing else. I had to dine the rest of the meal in discomfort with giant stains on my shirt and suit jacket. The wedding was the next day and I didn’t bring a spare shirt so I had to buy a new shirt at the last minute because the stains wouldn’t come out. To date, management refused to reimburse me for my out of pocket expenses for the new shirt. My family easily paid over $1000 for that dinner and the new shirt wasn’t even expensive. This is a terrible way to run a restaurant business. So I am warning other diners – with so many dining options in Half Moon Bay, I definitely would not recommend your business here; the service is absolutely appalling.
