Perkos Madera. I live in San Diego, CA, I travel to Madera once a month, I stay at the Super 8 Motel on W. Cleveland,and for meals I go to Perkos (next door to Super 8) for a meal . Everytime that I enter Perkos I am greeted by the cashier or a waitress. I have NEVER had a bad meal at Perkos . the service is excellent, so is the food . After they bring you your order hhe waitress always makes a point of asking you if everything is alrigjht, they also stop by and offer your drink refills. THe cafe is always staffed with enough waitresses. The owner/manager is Kelly, and Kelly is a hard wokring owner/manager, she also waits on tables.. Next time you are in the area stop by Perkos and give them a try , you wil be as happy as I am Don BSan Diego, CA
Worst food on the 99. Clam chowder was lukewarm, grilled cheese sandwich wax unedible – the cheese was unidentifiable and one thin slice stuck between 2 pieces of thin wheat bread. I sent the sandwich back it was disgusting. Service was slow. Wish I had gone to Denny’s across the street.
Cheap Breakfast. I happened to be in Madera for a race and decided to hit Perko’s for breakfast. The breakfast menu was small and the selections not to my liking, lots of ham, sausage, bacon, and fried stuff with almost everything. I got eggs and pancakes. The eggs were fine but the pancakes had a mountain of margerine on it. I’m talking about something the size of a scoop of icecream! I took that off and the food was ok. I also had a choice of hashbrowns or potatoes. The potatoes were deep fried. The coffee was average but the service was fine. I would not go back but I will say that everything was inexpensive and the food was on par with the cost.
Heading home from the north. This is a welcome site when I approach Fresno after a trip early in the morning. I stop at Perko’s and have some bacon and eggs. They never fail to please us. Great good, service, and great coffee. I even like the old seventies Perko Kup sign! I remember when all the Perko’s had those signs. Good stuff.
