Great food! Make reservations. We got the chili and a cheese plate. Both very flavorful. We were not disappointed. Staff was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We had a great time. And they have their liquor license now so they will be expanding the restaurant shortly to have full bar and more seating.
A well-oiled machine – even when packed with patrons. I was so impressed with lunch, that I went back for a Friday night supper. The place was packed -completely full- except for my reserved barstool. Even though the restaurant was slammed, the service was flawless. This is not a place where you are assigned one server and are at his or her mercy all night. These gentlemen work together like a perfectly synchronized machine. They are obviously a team and an extremely competent one at that. And the food was incredible. The pairs of patrons on both sides of me at the bar were regulars, and not one of them could tell me of a single meal that had been less than spectacular. And it seemed like so many of the patrons knew each other. But this was no accident: on more than one occasion, I heard the barman introduce patrons to each other and knew many of them by name. I, on the other hand, prefer the hermit culinary experience. The staff picked up on that right away and only interrupted my reading at the perfect times to offer me exactly what I wanted. This was, hands down, the best meal I have had in ages. Did I mention that the food was beyond compare?18 Jul, 2014Amazing find. Unexpectedly sophisticated and flavorful dishes. Top quality service.. I did not realize that there were any restaurants in Rocklin / Roseville that actually offered food that tasted better than bland chain restaurant fare. I come back to the US every summer, and unfortunately have to spend it in suburbia if I wish to see my family. Which means that vacations have been filled with bland, 3rd rate cuisine for the past 10 years. Until now. This gem is tucked away in an unassuming corner of a strip-mall and the interior design is not awe-inspiring. But the service and cuisine is. SERVICE: I went in at 1:45 PM on a Friday looking like what the cat drug in – unshowered and gross after hours of yard work and errand running, dressed in ridiculously unfashionable work clothes. The gentlemen treated me like the Queen of Sheeba. CUISINE: Menu offers dishes that are adventurous enough to impress the discerning, but also offers several dishes that are not too intimidating for the average joe. The prices are exceptionally reasonable considering the high, sophisticated quality of the cuisine: prices are equivalent to sit-down chain restaurants, but thank God that the food is not.
Good Food but …. So I’ve heard the hype about this restaurant … and I have a few friends who love it. Was introduced to the restaurant by one of these friends who knows the owners. Fabulous lunch. Great service. But cold … and I didn’t enjoy the small table near to the bathroom. I took my hubby there for lunch and the food was still good, but the service was really slow and again it was freezing. I’ve been back a couple more times with different people … The food was good each time … but I don’t think it’d be my first choice simply because it’s just way too cold – I get that the chefs are sweating in the tiny space, but it is really uncomfortable and I couldn’t really relax and enjoy my meal.
I went there tonight with my Grandmother on her birthday, as well as my mom, brother, aunt uncle, and grandpa. The food was all excellent; I had a salad with almonds and apples, and they were very willing to make all of the changes to the dish I requested. We started off, with the pesto French-fries, of coarse, which they were famous for: DELICIOUS! We ended the meal with pies, cherry for myself, probably the best I’ve ever had, and the others had strawberry/rhubarb. There was a professional D.J., who plays every other Saturday, with real records packed with classic oldies. A great crowd, too. The service was excellent, friendly, and the whole place just had wonderful ambiance. We will eat there again
Mother and daughter + bacon and chocolate. My daughter and I dined here fir the 1st time last weekend on our girls night out. Fantastic service from the minute we walked in the door. The pesto fries were ordered as a recommendation by friends but all I needed was the shrimp and grits! Daughter had crab cakes on arugula. Great wine poured like a glass of wine should be. Plus the ending with the bacon brownie sundae! Thank you Chefs and staff!
Needs improvement in service. The owner needs to spend more time with his customers instead of chatting with his cooking students at the bar. Instead of checking on people, he parked himself behind the bar and basically ignored his customers. Place is way too small to be a restaurant, it is more like a storage room.
PHENOMENAL. My girlfriend and I are going to make coming to this restaurant a weekly event!! Not only are Chef Dave, Chef Mikey, and Braum, etc.. personable, down-to-earth, cool guys, but their culinary creations are original, fresh and innovative!!! Local ingredients are used in a weekly changing menu that keeps things fun and provocative. If the mac n’ cheese with jalapeo fondue is on the menu, it would be sacrilege not to order it!!! One of the greatest dining experiences in the tri-state area!!!
