Was recommended by a local. We were not disappointed! We had the unique artichoke dip and lasagne and a local bottle of wine. As foodies and professional winemakers we were not let down. For a restaurant in a hotel we would highly recommend and come again
Love it!. I enjoy eating here very much! The owner and staff make you feel comfortable and welcomed. The lasagna is amazing, as is the flaming Saganaki. Also the best calamari in town, in my humble opinion. Most of the staff is great, including the delivery girl (LOVE that they deliver valley wide) and they are all very personable and helpful. The decor could use a serious update, its bland, but all in all I feel like I am eating dinner at a family member’s home when we eat there, which is a good thing! This is my favorite hole in the wall restaurant.
Disappointed. The decor was shabby. There weren’t napkins on the tables, there were hand towels. This looks AWFUL. The bread was tasteless and served with margarine, please! If you don’t want to spring for real butter, then offer olive oil for dipping. Our waiter was the singular bright spot in our dining experience. Brandon was attentive, professional, friendly and efficient. My companion ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The sauce was bland and fatty, there were exactly 4 pieces of chicken in the entire serving. The pieces were about as big as my thumb. For that price, I expect to see some chicken. The kindest remark I can make about my dish (spaghetti) was that it was hot. Other than that, really below average. Overcooked pasta, sauce that tasted canned/acidic. The jarred parmesan cheese on the table did not help matters. All around, this was a mediocre at best meal. I can’t in good conscience recommend Pantuso’s to anyone.
Simply the Best. My family started going to Pantuso’s last December after finding out they had a Gluten Free Menu. We’re hooked for life! My husband doesn’t have to eat Gluten Free, so he orders off of the regular menu and my daughters and I order off of the Gluten Free menu. Our favorite is the Gluten Free Chicken Parmessan smothered in Alfredo Sauce, with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo. It’s to die for! The breading on the chicken is crunchy and the alfredo sauce is creamy and delicious. I highly recommend it!!!
Horrible Experience. I had heard that an old italian place in town had re-opened after failing at a different location, so my wife and I decided to give it a shot.I am sorry to the owner for being frank, but it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a long, LONG time. After being sat, we waited for nearly a half hour before being spoken to. Once they remembered we were the there, the staff was not only not apologetic, but short and rude with us!I was hoping that since service was clearly not Pantusos selling point, that the food would improve the night.I was wrong.I had a steak, and my wife had the eggplant parmigiano. The steak was the single toughest piece of meat I’ve ever ordered. Even with my steak knife, I had to saw at the thing. My wife’s eggplant was burned on bottom, which gave it a rock hard base. As I said, I apologize to the owner for being frank, but I can’t imagine he/she takes much pride in the place. Dingy decor, terrible food, and awful service.I would imagine it is only a matter of time before it fails. Again.
I can make better Italian food at home. Save your money.
Poor service detracts from good lasagne. Sat at the bar at 1900 on a Sunday night for 20 min without a food order. I had the menu right in front of me the whole time but the bartender was busying himself with everything but the customer sitting right in front of him. To get served I want and sat at a table. There were 3 others at the bar having a beer at the time. No excuses – nothing is more important in the food business than the customer in front of you.Otherwise the minestrone soup was flavorful but had pasty lumpy pasta floating in it. No salt or pepper on the tables, waitress too busy texting to notice I had to go and get her and ask for them. Salad was fresh with subpar institutional blue cheese dressing, of course without any blue cheese present. The lasagna bologaese was recommended by the staff and customers at the bar. It came as a large 5in sq portion smothered in a piquant meaty bolonase sauce and was good. The sauce had both beef and sausage and was complex and delicious. The offer of parmesan cheese was a pizza cheese shaker, even Olive Garden has this figured out. While we’re at it how about some disposable pepper mills at the table? The bread served was a decent warm sliced baguette. The pizza supreme was ordered to go. It was equal to domino’s but no better with salad cut veggies, hard dry crust, and oddly without the flavorful sausage used in the bolonase. Ho hum.Not recommended mainly due to service issues but you can get a good lasagna bolonase. Costs: lasagna $16, pizza $16, local brew beer $5
