Horrible. I ordered a Ham grinder. It came 1:45 minutes later. It was cold when it arrived. The bread looked great. It was a nice thick N.Y. style grinder roll, but it literally had 2 pieces of ham on it. I called to ask if it was normal and when the girl said it was. I said I’d like to give some constructive criticism seeing how it’s a brand new place in a town that has at least 20 other places to go, you should really put more meat on the grinder. I was going to say, especially since the bread is so thick, but the girl hung up on me before I could finish. You’re throwing money away if you order from Andrea’s on West Main Street in Meriden.I’m not upset about the $5.00 tip even though it took so long, the delivery driver was very nice.I don’t think it was his fault it took so long.

Red or white?. Andrea’s is my go to pizzeria for a weekly (or more often) pizza fix due, in no small part, to the bargain priced ($3.50) luncheon special that includes 2 slices of cheese pizza and a 12-ounce soda. Until last evening, we had never ordered a full pizza, but that itch has now been scratched. After reviewing the take-out menu, of which I have a few scattered around the house, we settled on a large Ortalana (vegetable) specialty pizza that included spinach, roasted red peppers, garlic, ricotta cheese and a copious amount of eggplant. Like wine, offered as either a red or white, we were undecided so 12 and 12 was requested. The crust was slightly thicker than usual, but with a desirable crunch, and the toppings were garden fresh. Which side, red or white, won the best of award in secret balloting conducted at the conclusion of the meal? Red, 2-0.30 Oct, 2014Good value. I stopped in at this recently opened restaurant for take out after noticing the sign that NY style pizza was available by the slice. A total of 3 tables and a counter are available for dining-in. There were 4-5 premade pies from which to choose so I ordered a pair of cheese slices. Neither Italian nor English were the primary language of either of the 2 employees, but I managed to get my order across. The pizza proved to a bit thicker than NY style, but the the crust had a nice chew and the sauce & cheese were not oily. The cashier initially had a problem charging my credit card, but I am sure that issue will be resolved as she gains experience. Priced at $1.75 per slice, it was a good value so I would not hesitate to return.Note: on a return visit I was told by the cashier that there is a luncheon special that includes 2 slices of cheese pizza and a 12-ounce soda for only $3.50.
