When I first moved to Meriden 3 yrs ago being a big foodie I looked up what Meriden was known for and Steamed cheeseburgers is what came up. I wrote list of tr hot spots and Ted’s was listed as the original so I started there. I thought it was an ok burger. I then saw a article in the meriden paper about K Lamay’s and couldn’t wait to try how he perfected the burger. I went to this little place and ordered the burger and it was amazing! Love the cheddar cheese and fresh rolls. I always add bacon and sauted onions. I will literally dire by Teds and get an instant craving to go to K Lamay’s to buy a burger for myself and my husband. No offense to Teds since this is where te main guy got the roots for the place but definitely is yummy!

Best Steamed Cheeseburgers!. K Lamays has the best steamed cheeseburgers around. Conveniently located on E Main St, right next to Les’s Ice Cream. I’ve been to this location many times, and even their Middletown one, and have never had a bad meal. They consistently get the order right, are very friendly, and best of all, the burgers are delicious! They have other options like turkey and chicken fingers also. I highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
