Disappointment. This place has just gone downhill. Food is cold and nothing special. Service is so slow and no one seems to be around that is in charge. No sense of urgency. Very disappointing because the place has the best view. Too bad. No wonder this place has the worst reputation with the locals.
Garlic Crab Excellent, View Excellent, Service Slow. Don’t come in expecting a fast lunch. It did take over an hour to get out of there. But besides that… I don’t get all the negative reviews. The monkeys were there to help keep us entertained, as well as the busy river goers on boats and kayaks. It was a great location and view of the river! My garlic crabs were excellent. So flavorful you just push the butter to the side because you don’t need it. The meat was sweet and the full bucket of crabs had a dozen or more garlic cloves in the bottom. The crab juice + garlic = yum. Came out hot and fresh.Sweet tea was pure southern and delicious.Definitely a good stop over for lunch before headed to the state park, just make sure you expect a more leisurely lunch.
Best Blue crabs!!. Hands down the best blue crabs ever! Always enjoy sitting on the water there while enjoying a refreshing drink and the skewered shrimp are a must have!! Beautiful gem overlooking the Homosassa River!!
Terribly Expensive… We had lunch at Riverside today. We had 2 sandwiches @ $10. each, one coffee and one rootbeer,The bill came to 43.46??? And I added a $5.00 tip!! We came here to check out the restaurant forcompany coming and a nice place to eat!!! Believe me..we will take NOONE and NEVER come back!I still haven’t figured out how the bill doubled! And to top it off…the food wasn’t that great either. We also eat out every Friday nite with a group of 10. We were going to suggest coming to Riverside!!Oh, I must mention there was noone in the place on a nice Saturday afternoon.!
I have eaten here many times with mixed reviews. My last meal was the straw. Menu claims fresh pasta. My scampi came with noodles had been so long under the warming lamp that they had actually started to dry out and crisp. Green beans were turning blue and wilting. The sad thing is that the sauce was so good you wanted to pitch out the rest and lick the plate
We had guests come to see us in Homosassa (their first time here) while we were here for a long weekend. We wanted to eat nearby and agreed on Riverside Crab-house. It was the worst meal all around. One gal didn’t get her baked potato until she and the rest of us were almost finished, one got a wine based pasta dish that tasted like half a bottle of cooking wine was poured all over it just before it was brought to the table, one lady had soggy fish, and my fish was half raw. (I asked and the mgr took mine off my bill) and our server obviously had other things one her mind. I hope to never eat here again and will send anyone who asks me to Pecks in Ozella…it’s so worth the drive!!! (And they don’t price gouge, either!!!!)
Awful food, mediocre service, great location. This place is only in business because of its great waterfront location. The food was terrible. We had originally ordered the prime rib and garlic blue crabs. The prime rib had to be sent back, it was ordered medium-rare and came out well done, tough, and dry. It was sent back and a fried seafood platter was ordered in its stead. This platter was greasy, soggy and unseasoned. The garlic crabs were mediocre and tasted like they were reheated. Save your money!
