I had a great meal here. Pleasant atmosphere , friendly waitstaff and a decent array of choices. Tried a platter with a variety and enjoyed it quite a bit tasty tamale and chili relleno, excellent taco and great table side guacamole. Prices seem decent and portions are more than ample . I will definitely return. Was there on a Saturday night and loved the mariachi band, quite a nice touch

Loved this restaurant. Although it’s a little pricey the food is tasty. At least on the weekend there is a live mariachi band. One item that is often overlooked with a band is it can be to loud for conversations. However with the high ceilings it was not too loud. We thoroughly enjoyed it and bright home plenty of leftovers. Check it out for some upscale Mexican.

We ordered tacos al pastor and not even close of what is the dish. Pork meat cooked in tomato sauce with pineple, like chinese. Tacos BBQ came with tomatillo sauce. Very disappointing. I talked to the waitress and she was not nice. This is not our first time. Certainly something changed in the kitchen. Not anymore the Authentic mexican taste.

November 2018Cantina Laredo, Big Pine Way, Ft. Meyers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.Lets start with chit chat. The service was quite good. The chips and salsa was passable.I always judge a mexican joint with the chili rellenois. So I decide to give the shrimp a try. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE.This was the WORST MEAL I have had in recent memory.First only 1 chili. Then the shrimp…. It was like eating pieces of rubber. Not fresh at all. Then the chili had barely any flavor. The cheese yech.Overall with the bed of rice and can corn it was just plain horrible. I ate the few shrimp. I left the rest there. The price was $18 bucks. This was my Veteran free meal. WOW…never again HI! here is my 2 cents with some chit chat. First it is very pretty. BUT way over price. I was in the area and was offered a free appetiser. Queso Laredo. It is priced at 10 bucks, it is that cheese in a bottle at the chips display that you find in a grocery store. It is served in a soup bowl with a bit of chopped tomatoes & onions. Along with mass produce chips. The chips were light and warmed. I was also given to salsa they seemed to be made in house. They were ok. I did ask for hotter stuff and got it. Smokey and made me sweat. Delish.I also got a sweet tea. 3 bucks for this!!!!My to go to dish in a mexican eatery is the chili rellenos. It was served with rice and a medley of vegetables on the side. Rice thumbs up veggies OK.I am usually given 2 peppers filled with cheese. Here I was offered beef, chix, or cheese. I got the beef. IT was big I must admit. It like 2 peppers melded together. But it was terrible they had mixed a bit of cinnamon with it. Over all flavor yuck. I had chili rellenos at a lower price ( here its 14 bucks) at 2 other local mom and pop places that were to die for. Here no..Coming from California I know good mexican food. This is not. The decor is great. I thought the staff was outstanding. But this is a touristy type place for folks who want entertainment not real experience or great food.So if you have a big wallet lack of good taste for real mexican food come on down . This is for you.

Food was excellent . Cheese dip was ok. We prefer white cheese dip vs the yellow they served here. Carne Asada was flavorful and tender. Service just a little slow.Returned in 2016 – table for 5 during off peak time. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I had shrimp fajita , wife had Carne Asada. Everything was cooked , waiter was super. Really enjoyed the meal.

BLOWN AWAY!!!!. This is by far one of the best restaurants in all of south west Florida. From the top shelf guacamole to the Mexican apple pie everything was out of this world. I would recommend the asada camarones. The service is outstanding as well, if you are looking for a place to go eat Cantina Laredo will not disappoint.
