My husband and I loved it! The service was pretty poor though. The atmosphere, including live music & outside patio, was great! I had a special which was called Fungi Risotto- LOVED it! My husband had the crab cakes & thought they were delicious, they had lots of crab meat & the side sauce was really good. He said the daily veggies as the side were done well.

Terrible! Over priced and food was bad! Scallops old and very fishy! Chicken hard, frozen , chewy and old! Fish was ok- poor seasoning on veggies and bland rice! I never mind paying high priced if it’s good. But save your money! Key lime pie good- if we ate those dishes we might have been sick!!04 May, 2015A Big Flop on vacation … …. A Big Flop on vacation …A cute outdoor resturant, probably good for drinks and dessert. Tropical atmosphere is nice; however, the dinner was horrible! Scallops were the worst scallops our table has ever had. Very Fishy and smelled bad. Chicken Marsala chicken was the worst texture I’ve over had- frozen, old chewy and separated while chewing.. Inedible to say the least! No one ate the veggies on their plate very hard and terrible seasoning. Bland rice . Service was good and key lime pie very good. Very overpriced food, especially considering that is was one of the worst meals we’ve had in a long time! Eat first somewhere else!

A Major Disappointment. I’d heard good things about Key Lime Bistro over the years but it turned out to be a major disappointment. Our party of five arrived about 1:30 and were greeted by a hostess who really needs to consider another line of work. Absolutely no personality, no smile, just a sour look that let you know she’d rather be just about anywhere else. If I owned a restaurant this is just about the last person I’d want greeting my customers. Our server, a young guy with sunglasses, was about the only positive we encountered. He was very friendly and generally attentive but, if he said his name, I missed it.Watermelon margaritas (served in a tall tumbler) had no watermelon flavor at all although to be fair they did seem to contain a decent amount of tequila. We’d had some great watermelon margaritas the week before but Key Lime’s were not even in the same league.Four of us then ordered items containing crab cakes. The crab cakes were tasteless and mushy and could have used a few more minutes in the pan to at least develop some color and crunch. In addition the two Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict we ordered were comprised of a barely toasted English muffin, topped with a large slice of tomato, the crab cake and key lime hollandaise. Definitely sounded decadent but the tomato ruined the dish. Its placement between the muffin and the crab cake caused both to become a soggy, reddish, mess. The tomato needs to be moved to the side of the plate to keep the well cooked but cool potatoes company.Heated plates are always a good idea but serving coleslaw on a heated plate is not. Put it in a separate bowl. Two of our party used the restroom and said it was among the dirtiest they’d ever seen. The live music which was quite good. When we left the hostess did not even look up from her sweeping when she said a barely audible good bye.I can’t imagine we’ll ever go back.

Best coconut shrimp I have had in my life…the live music was fun and not too loud. Could still enjoy my food and drinks without shouting and it was tasteful. Wouldn’t recommend for people on a budget but absolutely loved it here.

Two days in a row having breakfast: two different servers both forgot half of our order :(.

Dinner Review. We’ve been coming to Captiva for years, and one of our favorite places has always been the Keylime Bistro. It’s been over 2 years since we’ve been on the island, and we brought our family to the restaurant for dinner. It’s highly unusual an experience, but the overall dinner was poor from appetizers to dessert (well, to be fair, we skipped dessert as dinner was so bad, we opted to not push our luck). The chips and salsa were serve with stale chips and store-bought salsa, but the calamari was the best dish of the evening. Hamburgers for the kids were a dry and overcooked, my wife’s Mahi Mahi special ($34!) was drizzled with some horrid raspberry sauce and was not very fresh, and my Ahi Tuna, ordered very rare, was both overcooked and had a strong fish odor which told me it was past its prime, and was sent back. Service was slow and not very attentive. The best part of the experience was the live music, which is always good. Something has happened to our favorite restaurant on Captiva, I’m sad to say, and I don’t believe we will be returning to Keylime Bistro.
