March 2018Micelli’s Restaurant, Pine Island Rd., Matlacha, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chatter.I have been here twice for turkey day. A big buffet AYCE. It was great. This time I got the french dip with cole slaw and the chili. The chile for 4 bucks a cup,WOW, it just suck. It was only a step, maybe, above eating out of the can. Just beans and ground beef. You could barely taste the cumin. Not spicy. Plus you got a whole lot less than a can.The cole slaw was just ok.My entree cost $11.00 . It was a small sandwich. The cheese seemed melted away. Not much meat and au jus was so salty. I left the au jus there.Service was good. The view of the water is wonderful. I wish my meal this time was too. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. First some chit chat and why I am giving it 5 stars. They offered a 25 buck buffet for turkey day…This is a place that’s located on the waterway in which you can pull up and berth your dingy. They had lots of outside umbrella covered tables. There was lots of booths and table inside. The personnel… WOW…. everyone was very nice with great big smiles..happy like Stepford wives would be.. (maybe it was the added 18% gratuity being enclosed today..LOL…but worth it)I was warned to get here early… I did… They open early. 15 minutes before the schedule 11 AM time.(note by 1130AM it was getting filled up)So I staked out my table and dug in. They had a carving table of prime rib cooked to the perfection of medium rare. It was sliced thin ,but you could ,and I did make 3 return visits. The au jus was delightful, but unfortunately the horseradish sauce was too watery. Good but watery.I sampled the dark turkey, white turkey and the ham. Except for the ham which was a touch on the dry ,though in a sweet sauce. Everything was delish. the dressing, sweet potatoes, mash potatoes, cookies, clams ,pumpkin pies. The management stop by my table and ask for my criticism . Which I gave. I made my customary 3 grazing trips at the buffet. (you need to get your money’s worth and belly filled) It was so worth it.By the time I left, the place was filling up and the parking was full.I will definitely be back and try the regular items. You all need to come on down!!!!NOVEMBER 2016…Miceli Restaurant, Pine Island Rd., Matlacha, Fl.,A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food a bit of chit chat. Turkey day. A buffet for 25 bucks.I must say they do it right for the price. Prime rib, turkey, gravy, taters, green beans ,bread ETC.Everything I sample was excellent. My only issue was NO sweet potatoe pie. They had the wretched key lime pie. But over all, as far as food goes it was wonderful.Service was outstanding. I was visited a number of times by staff. So friendly folks. My only future problem it will be TOO popular.I will make it a point to come here later.Oh yeah they have tables that view the water.

Jam Packed every night!. We drove past Miceli’s many times before we tried it and the parking lot was jammed every time! We looked at the reviews, and decided to try it for ourselves to see what the attraction is. Now we understand. There is a giant outdoor patio overlooking the water (busy canal) with high quality live music. We got there at 5:00, and barely got a seat on the huge patio. I could have stayed all night listening to the talented duo playing classic rock songs and others. The Bada Bing salad with special sauce was great. I ordered the shrimp version, and got at least two dozen decent sized shrimp. The crab cake sandwich was just ok (no idea why the spouse ordered such a thing). The server was attentive, but rushed, with no time for small talk. I will definitely go back again if I return to this area.
