Disgusted. Upon entry we noticed menus being passed back to the hostess and not being cleaned off, the place smelled like urine and the table was dirty when we were seated, I had to ask the waiter to clean it. I chose not to eat anything, the couple seated next to us left and the bus boy came over cleaned off their table and used their cloth napkins to wipe the table and seats, then the same bus boy brought new silverware wrapped in cloth napkins. The bus boy should not be handling silverware. The table was not cleaned properly.
Food !. They do not honor the coupons obtained at the Yamato website period. I have been in Japan, China and Hong kong. This people does not have any idea about an oriental soup, it is a bowl of soy sauce with a couple mushrooms slices. To much soy sauce every where.On the positive side, great steak, grilled to perfection and an excellent fried rice but that is about it.. Do not even think about the noodles, you will have nightmares in a heart burned hell. The noodles are like coming from a cheap brand can and swimming in a pool of soy sauce that made them a disater. The family sitting next to me avoided the noodles and got double fried rice instead, now I see why. If you want to spent your hard working money in a very nice meal with your family, this is not the place to go but, if you want to get even with any enemy around you or some one that you hate at work, go ahead and tell them about this place, they will hate you for the rest of your life. Run from here and do not look back, there is Kobe Steak house, the Asian Grill buffet, and all kind of places around that will help you have a nice time and a delicious food. Hope this may help you think twice before you ruin the priceless time with your friends or love ones.
Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!!. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant! They charged me for things I didn’t get and refused to take it off my bill. Then on top of that I got more than half of my food in a to-go box and I stepped outside to take a picture while my whole party was still at the table and when I came back my food was gone and told me it was my fault for leaving it on the table. When I tried to complain they started making my situation a joke and had all the workers listening and laughing. Come to find out that the person handling my credit card information and talking to me wasn’t even part of the staff. He was friends of the owner!!!!! That seems a little illegal to me! I would never refer this place to anyone! Not to mention the food wasn’t even that good, the rice wasn’t completely fried and the noodles were under cooked. And the cook didn’t even try to entertain us. He didn’t interact with us at all and just left when he was done cooking. Our waitress didn’t even bring us our refills and rolled her eyes at everything we asked for. I’m still in shock over the horrible experience I had. When you go out to spend your hard earned money and something like this happens it totally ruins your night. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else!!!!
Very good restaurant. Love the food on both sides: tepanyaki and regular tables. The miso soup and the New Tampa roll are my favorites. The server was very attentive and kind with us. The sangria is great and the sushi prices are awesome. Highly recommend!
Worst ever.. Just had dinner(???) and to be honest, it was the worst I have ever had at a Hibachi. The food at most of these establishments tends to be the same as they all use the same sauces and seasonings. Not much of a surprise there. Still, some chefs are better at others at flavoring/cooking the meal. The show was basically nonexistent. (Don’t they teach these guys anything anymore?!!?) On the plus side, the Sushi was excellent. I will possibly go back to the Sushi bar for lunch, but as far as the Hibachi goes, no thank you. Too bad. Another lost customer…….
Bad Service, Bad Food. Have been 3 or 4 times and the service has gotten progressively worse with each experience. The only thing I’ve gotten that I really liked was the mango sushi. Other than that, this place isn’t my cup of tea at all. Kwan Ming or Liang’s Bistro is a much better option here.
Special service for GF diner. Went to Yamato recently for a family birthday. I’m gluten-intolerant, so planned to order my steak plain, along with white rice and just call it dinner. I brought along a bottle of my own Tamari as I presumed (rightly) that the house soy sauce was likely Kikkoman or similar. I explained my needs to our waitress, who suggested Yum Yum sauce on the salad. Brilliant! When she brought the salads, she asked for my bottle of Tamari, telling me one of the chefs would prepare my meal in the kitchen to avoid cross-contact with the food on the grill. She returned with the steak, fried rice and veggies, all of which were delicious and well-seasoned with my sauce. What started out as a typical GF compromise dinner ended up a feast! Everyone else enjoyed their food, and our 12-yr-old grandson (who’s mostly a carnivore) had special praise for the fried rice. I cannot recommend Yamato enough.
