Sigh…… So many great Asian restaurants that don’t deliver around here…I tried Chef Choi three times. First time, got MaPo Tofu..delicious, spicy, addictive, but very rich in oil. The second time, I got spring rolls…perfect, shattered upon bite and Shrimp and Scallops in XO sauce…nice! The third time I ordered same as second time and again, Spring Rolls were perfect but XO dish is watery and bland. Discouraging!
Are you kidding me?. One of the reasons why I live in the area is that it has some of the best restaurants around. So today when I thought what I wanted I was happy to google chinese and cypress road to find another great find. This is when I found Chef choi’s place. I ordered the standard for me which includes pork ribs, steamed wontons, shrimp friend rice & general chang’s chicken and shrimp. Yes a little more than normal, but whatever I didn’t eat I would put on the side and eat the next day. When the food came the ribs and steamed wontons were eatable but both fried shrimp and chicken were smelling of freezer frost as if they came from a pre-made items bought from the distrubtor… both went into the garbage right there and that’s how I feel about Chef Choi’s friggin garbage!
We ordered hot and sour soup (worst we’ve ever had), beef Lo mein (no flavor), crab Rangoon (tasted baked rather than fried–yucky) and Orange Chicken (just ok). The delivery service was good, but wish the food would’ve been better. I’m sure there are better Chinese restaurant options out there….
The best Chinese food in my neighborhood! Very large portions just like the old days! The food arrives hot and tastes amazing! I moved from ny 23 years ago and have been searching for good Chinese food since so I hope you will take this review seriously! Thank you chef choi!
