Baba Ganush to die for! Lamb Shishkabab was juicy and cooked perfect medium, just as i asked. Good friendly service. I will come back and would recommend to anyone!
Surprisingly very good Middle Eastern, Lebanese food. Went there on a recommendation and went back again with different friends this time. Very good food and we are not easily impressed these days. Everything is made in house. Fresh and tasty. The falafel pizza is an amazing plethora of flavor as well as an innovative and fresh idea. The made to order tabouleh salad that came with the delicious veggie combo was not drowned with nor overpowered by lemon as is the case at so many other restaurants that serve that dish. The fatayer, spinach and walnut filled dough, was simple, fresh, and tasty. One friend had the chicken liver and cleaned his whole plate as well as finished all of his chicken soup too. Great take on the most basic of dishes, the french fry, a.k.a., Shishka fries which are herbed and salted, yummy. The Shishka salad was enough to generously share with everyone. The waitress’s suggestion to put yoghurt on the mojadara, a dish of lentils and rice topped with onions was a popular success. Desserts of creme caramel and I guess it was a Lebanese style baklava with walnuts went very well with the cardamom mint tea that was served. For the vegetarians and ingredient specific people in our group, there were enough choices for all. Unfortunately for this review, I pretty much duplicated my order from last time because it was so surprisingly tasty then and this time as well. Service was very good both times and we were never pushed to pay and leave allowing us to enjoy our coffee, tea, desserts, and conversation. It didn’t break the bank and we walked out stuffed. One drawback for me personally was the Costco brand packaging I spotted behind the scenes but then again, I get depressed when I see Sysco trucks delivering their own brand of five gallon pail food around town It made me wonder how much came from the big box as I myself am usually rarely impressed with the quality of food from any of them. Despite however much they may have used, the folks at Shishka Grill have done a great job with the food, service, and the atmosphere. Don’t let the location fool you.
