Visited the Marietta Diner for the first time the other night and had an okay experience. The diner has the classic neon lights paired with chrome finishes. Upon entering, there were a lot of people waiting. But, the restaurant does a great job of working through the list and getting folks seated quickly. The restaurant was bustling, to say the least. Every table was occupied, and the vibe is lively and full. We ordered a Reuben Sandwich and a Philly Cheese Steak Sub. Both came with French fries, a pickle, and cole slaw. The portions are plentiful, so come with an appetite. The Reuben was hot and tasty. The Philly Cheese was very disappointing. The Steak had no flavor, and there was not a lot on the sandwich. The French fries were cold to boot. The cole slaw was some of the best I’ve had, definitely recommended. The service was friendly, but could have been more attentive. The waitress was kind enough to comp the Steak and Cheese since I only took a few bites. We ordered the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert, and it was amazing. Creamy and smooth. I would go back to this restaurant to give the food another try. Recommended for the experience.

Marietta diner has a menu that could take a year to eat your way through. What’s more, many of the options involve large portion sizes. This weekend I ate at the diner twice. Every time I’ve eaten there there’s a waiting list to get in. Friday the wait was short, I had a French dip and fries. The dip was great, the fries a bit bland. The sweet tea tasted off, not sure if it was artificial sweetener or if the tea had been sitting out too long. Saturday, long wait, we’d swear people with the same size party who arrived after us were seated first. They messed up our party’s size, which meant another 5 or 10 min to get in. Several others in my party ordered the apparently phenomenal seafood bisque. I got chicken tenders and fries, this time with gravy and unsweet tea. The tenders were a tad dry, but not horribly so and were pleasant enough, if still no match for a Zaxby’s. The fries were still bland, but the side of (brown) gravy for dipping made all the difference. The gravy is good and had a nutmeggy taste. The unsweet tea tasted fresh and good. With a little lemon (and our table received several lemons worth of lemon slices) the tea was even better. Some spinach appetizer (quiche?) was at the table both nights which the rest of the party loved. Both nights we also received a warm loaf of slightly cinnamon tasting bread which was better than the bread offerings of many other restaurants. The diner is also known for desserts, which cost a pretty penny, but you receive giant portions. Soft drink offerings are Coke products. Community coffee. Milkshakes are available, but I haven’t had one yet. It took a while for everyone’s food to arrive, but there was a huge crowd. While the chicken tenders and fries were listed as an appetizer, they were a full meal’s worth of food. One half of the French dip is more than you’d get if you ordered a French dip at Arby’s. Go once at least (on a non-holiday weekend) just to try something you can’t normally get. On previous visits I’d have rated the diner higher, some of the food is excellent, and the service is normally better. We’ll be back to try more things.

The Marrietta Diner undoubtedly one of the Best restaurants in the Atlanta area. The service has always been good. The food is good and you get so much. They do it through ole school way . Bread, soup, salad, spinach pie then your humongous entree. You will always take something home with you. We’ve never been disappointed and it’s worth the commute no matter where you are in the Atlanta area.

With a shiny, chrome exterior and a warm chestnut interior, The Marietta Diner serves pancakes at midnight, or pasta for breakfast, possibly a slice of delectable cheesecake anytime of the day. Over 150 items offered on the menu, customer with the most finicky taste buds can find something to please their palate. On a Saturday morning, hungry for fluffy pancakes and bacon, I paid a visit to The Marietta Diner. Greeted warmly, we were seated without a wait. Although on a Saturday early morning, the restaurant was not yet busy.See full review at joannsfoodbites.com

Atmosphere: The diner is brightly lit and clean. Service: I’ve never had an issue with the service at Marietta Diner. Everyone’s nice, patient and helpful. Food: It’s a diner so the menu is humongous. I’ve been going here for a few years and I’ve never been disappointed with the food. Is it 5 star quality, no. Is is bad….not at all. Its just good food. I’ve had a few things like the flounder that’s been above average but overall, its slightly above average food with huge portions. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with anything you choose on the menu.

While the Marietta Diner is a place we all should experience, I have never agreed with the hype regarding the food. Good points: It is a solid representation of traditional diners you will find in the NE. It is always open, the menu is huge, the desserts are even bigger & are generally good, and the service is quick and efficient. In the end, though…I have been here, or been dragged here many times, but just have never walked away with memorable or overly positive impressions of the food.

Food is OK. Portions are out of control huge. Make sure you split a meal. Trust me you will not go home hungry splitting a meal. Definitely not understanding why this place is popular…must be the TV exposure.
