Unprofessional wait staff, dont eat here. Not worth upsetting you on a vacation. Plenty of other places that will make your experience a good one while in Hawaii.
My husband and I go to a local Thai place every week and have gotten to be friends with the owner, so I’d say we know good Thai food when we try it. Don’t tell on us, but we actually thought the Red and Green Curry were slightly better. They do a very good Job on the spice level which I think is what it made it taste better. We like food spicy. The prices at this place were very reasonable too. The night we went, it was very busy, yet we thought our service was very good. I’d come here again since it was so good!
We went there for dinner and we were very underwhelmed with all the dishes we ordered very little flavor and I think a bit over priced but it is hawaii after all.
Great curry, cashew chicken, sticky rice and beef satay.
Busy. Friendly. Very good service. Has some nontypical menu items. Standards like sat and summer rolls were unusually good. Main dishes were very well spiced and dumbed down at all.
Great service. Food ok. Decor ok.
Surprise lunch. We stopped by Charley’s one afternoon for a late lunch. Nice interior decor, very serene, peaceful and clean! They have multiple lunch specials in the afternoon which make it a welcome choice for expensive Kohala area. We were delighted to find out they allow customers to bring in their own beverages as they do not sell alcohol. Having been to the beach that afternoon we had a cooler with a couple beers so we were allowed to bring those in while waiting for our food. Our server was excellent – provided prompt attentive service. I had the mahi plate lunch special with pan seared mahi, steamed sticky rice and sauteed vegetables – delicious! Mahi was seasoned with nice sweet, but spicey flavors – but not overpowering. Hubby had the pad Thai and was equally happy. We really enjoyed our lunch experience here and will go back when we return to the big Island. Mahalo!
