Best Place in Town. Bardenays has been my favorite restaurant in CDA since it opened. They have amazing food that never disappoints and the prices are far below what you would expect.. The atmosphere, while loud at times, is great, the decor is rustic but modern at the same time. I am reading a lot of complaints about service on here, and as a former server, I supposed I can be bias, but I think that it is, at the very least, adequate. Most times it is fantastic. I have recommended this place to everyone that has asked and I have always received thanks.

I went to Bardenay for Inlander Restaurant week. I was blown away at the offerings for $18.00. I had a martini, salmon Oscar with salad and flourless chocolate torte. My martini was the smoothest Id ever drank. But it was potent. The salmon was well prepared. My fish was juicy but not under cooked. The salmon portion was huge and I couldnt eat dessert. I took the cake home and both my husband and I enjoyed it. The torte was excellent by itself. With the raspberry sauce, the torte was sublime. The bartender was a nice gal. We chatted and she told me she had worked at Bardenay in Boise. She jumped at the chance to work again for Bardenay, when the CDA location opened. (That says a lot about the restaurant).

We will go back again. My wife and I rec’d a gift card to this place, but I had misgivings due to the reports of bad service on this site. We went there anyway since we had the gift card, and I was on the lookout for any signs of bad service/food or anything. They must’ve had a company meeting. We had great service. Our waiter Ryan answered all our questions about the various dishes and beverages. We had a Ginger Chicken Satay, a bowl of their red bean chorizo chili, a pear & spinach salad with the shrimp add, and the cod & chips. I’ll try a different satay choice next time, but that’s a matter of taste as much as anything. Everything else was really good stuff. When we needed extra an tartar for the cod fish & chips, Ryan quickly brought us two. All the staff I saw (and I was really looking for trouble) was very attentive and cheerful. We also felt the prices were very reasonable. I’ve listed what we ate, and throw in a diet Coke and a house martini, and our bill was less that fifty bucks! Maybe those who had less than a happy time should think about trying the place again. I know we will go back, maybe in the daylight next time.

Bad food.. The quality of the food has really gone downhill. All of our food was greasy. It was gross. The service wasn’t as bad this time around.30 Jun, 2013The food is good and the price isn’t bad. However, we’ve been sitting here for 14 minutes and still don’t have our water! The service has always been atrocious every time we come here. That’s really a shame. I’m going five them 5 more minutes and we still haven’t been served we will leave. The good news is that you never have to tip in this place because the service is just that awful.

Food was great but service was horrific. Server was clueless and far too casual for anything other than a Burger King. Food was good but will not be back until they invest in some better people and/or proper training for their staff.

Service …. Rude… Server insulted my southern accent. Food is good enough… But steaks kinda suck… No Baked Potato and they smother the meat with one of three different marinades … What happened to just a good steak!
