Great place to go to try new tea flavors. The staff was super friendly and had some samples to try. They have a nice seating area by the window, my only complaint is that the wifi was kind of slow and kicked me off a few times.
David’s Tea. Armitage Avenue in Lincoln Park is my favorite street in Chicago, and with good reason. The street is full of fun boutiques, restaurants, and beautiful architecture. The street has also been home to several of my best friends, so the street is full of memories.Last Saturday, Charles and I decided to have tacos at Taco Joint because I always want tacos. We visited some of our favorite shops on Armitage before and after dinner. Charles went to Thread Lounge, where we have found deals on designer clothing in the past, while I picked up a couple necessities at MAC and LOccitane. Then I did what I do best, drank beer and ate Mexican food. After dinner we stopped at the new Red Mango for frozen yogurt which is self-serve and has far better toppings than the Evanston location. And on our way to the train we stumbled across a new shop: Davids Tea. Charles and I have been drinking lots of tea recently, so we stopped in.The staff at Davids Tea was so friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic about tea. And they know their stuff. They asked us what flavors we like in our tea and then they gave us suggestions and samples. I picked Cream of Earl Gray which is full of vanilla flavor. Charles chose a couple green teas. You can either buy a cup of tea to go, or you can buy the tea to brew at home. We chose to get tea to brew at home. We did not have infusers or a teapot, and Davids Tea had a great selection and we now have all the supplies needed to brew tea loose leaf at home.My favorite thing about the shop is the selection and the unexpected flavors. They have birthday cake tea with sprinkles in it, movie night with popcorn in it, and chocolate cake tea with chocolate in it. Other fun flavors include: strawberry shortcake, red velvet cake, pumpkin chai, toasted walnut, sweet ginger, and moms apple pie. If you like tea, check this place out. Here is a list of some of my other favorite shops on Armitage that we did not get the chance to stop at this time: Art Effect, Paper Source, Shop 857. thekittchen.com
